How available is the 116710blnr?

My first post! My dream watch is the GMT Master II with black/blue bezel, I remember when that watch was revealed, I fell in love, I also remember how impossible it was to find back then. How about recently? Are they still a pain to find, do I have to get on a lengthy list? I am in the NYC area and I plan to get on late summer/fall.

I see it all the time. Even on watch websites that sell. On the classified ads on Rolex Forum it comes up almost everyday

I walked into an AD in February to ask about it and put down 20%, had it delivered 3 weeks later.

Pretty easy in Chicago. My friend walked into the AD and bought it without waiting list.

They are around. Make a few phone calls. Trusted sellers here have them. I've heard they are tough to get in the U.K.

They are readily available in the US but not in Vancouver. I had to wait a month (still shorter than the 5 month wait for LVc) to get one early last year. The wait time for BLNR is probably still the same, if not more, because I don't see them at different ADs. They still have to be special ordered.

Not that difficult to find. Personally saw one on display 2 times last year and heard people bought from display from time to time or placed order and get one within a month. I suspect some AD keep it from display to create the feeling of scarcity so that they cal sell at msrp without giving any discount.

It's a very common watch......

You guys in the USA have it so lucky lol
In the UK you'll almost never see one in the window. It's a waiting list watch, but not as hard as the DaytonaC.

Agreed, so suprised in the US it's readily available! I've been on the waiting list for around a year now. But I am not super desperate for it atm.

I received mine from an AD the day after I asked for one. It was still in the plastic coffin. I still grin whenever I look at it.

I'm in Long Island and have never walked into an AD and seen it on display. One had one in the back told me it was already sold but still let me see it. But you can get them easily online from a trusted seller, which is the route I chose.

I've been to two ADs in the last month. Neither had them displayed but when I inquired, they brought them out from the back. I'm not sure of the rationale of not displaying them other than to prevent excessive handling and potential minor scratches that might turn off an actual buyer.

In NYC and just bought one myself. Don't think it will be too hard to find but also don't expect to just randomly pop into an AD and get one. You'll probably need to call around to find a place that has them in stock: they're available, but a hot item still so stock moves quickly. I randomly popped in to an AD, was told it was out of stock. Another salesman overheard my goodbyes and lamentations to the salesperson who helped me try on the all black GMT(wanted to get a feel for the case size) and informed us that they actually got one in that morning. They called 10 people off the waiting list and no one picked up, so they were willing to sell it to me. While she was running my credit card, another person came it looking to buy one.

Has anyone spotted one in New Orleans or Dallas? I'm travelling to both places in a week and ready to (finally) take the plunge!

Unfortunately, not for me here in Alabama! I just called the two closest ADs (Jewelry Box, Pav & Broome) and when I asked if they had a BLNR neither knew what I was talking about. Finally, I had to add "GMT Master II" and then they acknowledged.

Jewelry Box said they have only received one since it first went on sale back in 2013 and Pav & Broome wanted me to pay half ($4,000) up front to maybe get one in 4-6 weeks!

Looks like I need to expand my search area...

Loring and Co in Huntsville has had one in the case for a while now. It was there a few weeks ago and had been there for a little bit. I've been seeing them in more displays than not recently.
