BLNR - Waiting list - did I just get lucky?

So I went to my local AD a month ago to add me to the BLNR list and they estimated a 6 month waiting time. Being impatient and all, contacted another 2 AD dealers fairly local and added me to their lists too, this was Friday afternoon.

So I was somewhat surprised to get the call Saturday morning from one of the dealers I contacted only the day before to say one had become available and I was next on the list!?

Just thinking could they have mistakenly added me to the top of the list, either way I kept my mouth shut and went along to pick my new piece. Happy days!
Was not expecting this anytime soon as the other dealer I contacted said 12 months to 2 years...

(Apologise for the image orientation, I rotated the image and still seems to come out wrong so gave up!)

Very nice. Congratulations. Right place right time I guess, but enjoy it and don't worry about that!

Perhaps the others on the list were called / not available / said no...or the salesman on duty needed a sale.

Or, there was no list.

No matter. No legal process round list maintenance.

You have your desired watch. Enjoy!

Congrats and enjoy your new piece! My AD say's they get about one per month. They have no list, so max is a 30 day wait, depending when you come in.

When I bought mine a couple months ago, the first AD I went to said that if I pre-paid, it would be several months before I could have one. The next 2 ADs I went to had one in the case, up for grabs.

Congrats. I just got mine last Friday as well. Usually the BLNRs are already accounted for when they come in so lucky you.

Thanks all, appreciated.

Yes I never know what to believe to be honest with the AD's one saying 2 years the other produces the goods withing 24hrs.

I agree that they seem to have a lot more coming into them now, and l may have been only one to answer the phone at the time. Either way I'm enjoying the new addition! Needed one for holidays of course so glad to have it! :)

My AD said the 'official' way to sell a watch on list is..

1) Call Number #1 on the list, if he don't pick.
2) Right away call #2 on the list, if he picks and says No (they ask should we remove from the list or no)
3) Right away call # 3 on the list and if he says YES, he gets the watch.

By the time #1 calls back and says YES, he'll miss out as he didn't take the call that moment. He's still going to be #1 on the list for next watch they get in the store. So, sometimes missing out AD's call be very hurtful! They don't wait for return call back, its delay of sale for them!

All about timing

Well done. I passed through Dubai yesterday and enquired about the BLNR as one wasn't on show. The response was positive and the sales assistant opened a draw and confirmed they had a delivery of 7 and this was the only one left.

Always pays to enquire

That's how I understood it to be, and would be sensible. Thing is, I did miss their call and phoned them back an hour later, still got it. Maybe they had lunch :)

Bit of a NEWB question, anyone know if the explorer 2 (40mm) brushed oyster bracelet would fit the BLNR? Thinking I could swap out for holidays keep the polished links looking nice with all that sand then swap back. I'm guessing not..

I was also on their list too est. 6 month wait. So tried Friday at Prestons in Wilmslow and David m Robinson Liverpool. It was Prestons Wilmslow who came back next day with the watch.

Good luck with your search mate, I'd just try a few, worked for me.

TS is in the UK. I think you did well!

In the US, BLNR is available, but in the UK, not so much. Good deal!

Beautiful watch. Enjoy it. Sometimes, people on the waiting list already got the watch from other sources, AD won't know that before they make the call.
