Ive owned both and I like both. If I had to pick, I guess I'd go with the GMT.

That's a tough call as I wanted both when I started with Rolex (and now fortunately have both), but I would have to give the edge to the Submariner due to it's iconic status and pure classic design. Love them both though! Cheers!

Sub. I love GMT masters but I'm not actually a huge fan of the GMT complication. Or the bezel.

I love both, it would be a tough choice. The GMT complication is really, really handy but I love the look of the sub and the bracelet, it is the perfect all day, any day watch. Probably from a versatility point of view it would have to be the GMT. I am glad I don't have to make that decision.

I would have go with the GMT. I don't have a Sub and never will. I just don't like them.

I chose GMT. But I already had a Seamaster, Sub seemed redundant (opinions will vary) so I didn't really consider it. I'm not sure what I'd have chosen if I didn't have the Sea master... diver seems like the right watch to start a collection. But I'm super happy with the GMT... also it not being as common as the Sub is nice.

All the GMT hand does for me is end up blocking the date window every time I'm looking for the date.

I'd say GMT for the functionality but since I never travel I don't need it.
So I guess I'll revert to my favorite. A two tone bluesey 11613

I travel only a few times a year and I prefer the Sub. I initially chose the Sub over the GMT primarily based upon the appearance of the bezel. I now find prefer fewer complications on my watches and the GMT complication makes date setting more tedious. I find it pretty easy to reset the time on my Sub when I change time zones. But, if I traveled to different time zones every week I might prefer the GMT.

Submariner because of the less busy bezel, glide lock clasp, rotating graduated bezel, less busy dial, no polished center links and the extra depth rating makes it tougher (in my mind at least)

Submariner or GMT if you had to choose one

GMT, for the additional complication.

Sub was my pick. If the GMT didn't have PCL, then that would be a harder choice for me.

Sub - a must have in collection. Classic and less busy bezel.

I have owned both and do love the GMT. However, I now have 3 Subs and no GMT's! I would love to add another GMT at some point but if it was a straight choice of only owning one or the other the Sub would win hands down!

My first Rolex is incoming now and it's a GMT (LN not BLNR) so question answered but I would like a sub one day.I have an MM300 so didn't want a second dive watch, but likely would have gone GMT anyway, love the GMT complication and will use it.
Why can't I stop reading this forum, is there an antivenom?
