New 39mm ROC Panda
The 41mm Royal Oaks are just too big for my wrist, but I like buying new so this does rather limit my choice. Last summer I picked up my first AP, a 39mm RG dual time which i really enjoy wearing (but only for best!). So I wanted to add a more casual 39mm RO. The 15202 is a lovely watch but too close to my 5711.
Then I saw here that Lapince had bought brand new blue 15300 on chrono24. This got me having a good look at the new 39mm ROs offered on chrono24 and there are a few. I guess these have just been kept in dealer safes for some reason. A panda 39mm ROC NOS was available which ticked all the boxes so decided to go for it. I just received it today after getting a maintenance service done by AP for the seals. I think it looks fantastic and I'm delighted with it. The size and fit is just right and the black and red aspects really set off the dial. It slots straight into my collection (replacing a Daytona which hopefully my brother is going to acquire). It's interesting that it's possible to source some models new many years after they have been discontinued. |

I wish the amount of black these have, AP did on the new 41mm and not have different sub dial sizes. If they did that, but do it in a 41mm (because I think 39mm is too small for a chrono), the watch would have been perfect.
