Royal Oak 15400 -- Should I Buy?

Hi,

I have been looking at a few different watches to buy to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of my company. I have always been drawn to the black face RO 15400 and I figure it will pair well one day with my dream watch-- a Patek 5726A.

I was offered a price of 15,000 usd out the door from a (non-gray) dealer. This price seems to compete with gray market dealers and blows away all the other authorized dealers I talked to.

For some reason I am hesitant. Maybe it was because the sales person at the boutique told me if I didn't service the watch every 3 years "I would be in for a world of hurt". Is the 3120 capable of daily use. I don't abuse my watches but I also don't baby them.

Any thoughts?

Bah 3 years....don't let that influence your decision. I have a vintage Omega Constellation from 1964 I don't think its been services for 20 plus years...keeps just as good time as my other watches.

The 15400 is sweet, I love the clear back. You cant go wrong with it

$15k seems a little high. I thought most people were getting 20-24% off so around $13600 to $14000 before tax.

I agree with the other people about the every 3 years. Seems a little excessive to me.

What does AP recommend? After how many years should you get it serviced?

Service after 5 years at the earliest and a RO service costs under $1K, no big deal.

Agreed!

You can do better. I imagine you already found one for less

Should you buy a 15400 = Yes!

You could do better on the price with a gray dealer but the relationship you may establish with an AD may be worth it if you plan to buy more

Love my 15400. Wear it everyday and it goes with everything.

It's been about 1 1/2 years since I got mine, but I think 22% was around where my AD offered and looking around it was the best, so I went with them.

Good luck!

you can do way better than 15k. I got mine for 13.8k or somewhere in that range back in March. After some CC rewards and what not I think it ended up being ~13.6k all in doing a send sale.
