Congrats! Great watch.

As for the cyclops, if you aren't happy, of course go to the AD. That's one of the reasons for buying from an AD. Have no regrets when admiring your new watch.

I would have a chat to the AD.

I would annoy me every time I checked the date. NPI.

Once you've seen it, you'll always see it so I'd take it in and ask. Oddly I have received my gmt back from rsc London yesterday which had a new crystal. The cyclops is off on that too (less so than yours, but even my wife noticed).

I think the problem is that they come as one piece now (crystal and cyclops) so will be a new crystal as opposed to a cyclops adjustment. When I look at mine, the etched crystal is bang on 6pm so it's obviously the way the cyclops has been mounted that is the issue. Quite how someone decided that was ok is beyond me, or maybe they hoped I wouldn't say anything.

It's just one of those things, but having spent a lot of hard earned cash on a new watch, I would have it rectified as it won't take long. Mine is going back too....

Congrats - looks fine to me in the pics

If you can, just enjoy the watch and have any issues dealt with at service time.

Yes your cyclops is right justified and rotated.

Is it normal?
No.
My $100 invictas don't have this problem.

Does it surprise me? No, Rolex mass produces a million watches a year with killer marketing making you think you're getting some amazingly precise, perfected watch.

Return it...I would NOT send it t RSC and wait 4-6 weeks as you just spent $9k for a stainless steel watch.

I'm going to take it in tomorrow to get it sent out and fixed because it really is unbearable to look at with how excessively crooked in person it is. How long do you guys think it would take for it to get back?

Yeah it's really bad because diagonally the corners of the white date display touch the ends of the magnifier... if that makes sense.

Slightly irritated I didn't catch it before I left the AD and kind of with Rolex for putting out such a blatantly flawed magnifier positioning. I'd better stop talking though because I am on a Rolex forum

If it were me, I'd ask for an exchange or refund. You just dropped a lot of money on a brand new Rolex. Having to now send it in and wait 6-7 weeks for them to fix it sucks.
Let's also not forget the recent myriad of horror stories of watches coming back from North American RSCs damaged.

Warranty work is supposed to take precedent over service work. Hopefully in less than a month!

I think so. After some soul searching green worked best with what I thought worked better with me. It was a struggle between buying traditional or buying what you like. The biggest problem being I liked both a lot but green won over for other reasons, etc.

I called the AD yesterday and they said the in house repair person can do it possibly. Should I trust them doing in house if it's just a "cyclops" rotation. Anyone heard of the AD doing that kind of job?

I would ask what specifically they plan on doing to fix it. I thought I read on here that the new Sub's cyclops is part of the crystal, not glued on. (If someone could clarify if that's true that would be great).

If the cyclops is part of the crystal the only thing they can do is to just rotate the whole crystal to better center the cyclops. I don't see how that would help your situation since your cyclops isn't off center up/down but rather left/right.

If the cyclops is not part of the crystal but rather glued in place, then maybe they plan on heating it to remove it and then re-gluing it once it's centered.

Or, maybe they plan on replacing your crystal altogether. Those are my guesses but if you find out what they plan on doing please let us know. I'm curious.
