Newbie with a 14060m
I bought a 2-line 14060m the other day (Thanks Chase, aka au_911tt) and after recovering from the cashflow panic attack, wanted to share some early observations from a Rolex virgin:
1) Watch is stunning and quality of construction is super high. Beauty aside, i'm really amazed how well this thing actually keeps TIME! Incredible accuracy especially compared to my IWC which was constantly losing time. Plus i'm looking at the watch constantly so I'm not as late anymore. 2) In retrospect, my hand-wringing over 2-line vs. 4-line was a little ridiculous and I'm sure either would've been fine but in the end, i'm quite happy with the 2-liner and the lack of engraved rehaut. 3) Was concerned about the 93150 bracelet fitting my skinny wrist after reading posts on this forum. My first attempt at getting the size right was poor (simply removing links) and I was concerned about needing to flip the bracelet or remove permanent links. But the micro-adjustments you're able to make on this clasp are awesome and saved the day. Clasp might not be perfectly centered but once get the size right, damn this thing is comfortable! 4) 15 years ago when I bought my IWC Mark XII with the JLC movement from a guy on TimeZone, I figured it couldn't get much better than that. Youthful ignorance! Now that poor watch might never see the light of day after wearing this beautiful Sub! How the hell do you guys keep all of your watches happy?! Shout out to my next-door neighbor Steve (aka Pwrslider on this forum) for talking me off the ledge during my initial "oh crap, what have I done?", and then convincing me that not only does the watch look bad-ass, it's just the first of many purchases! Yikes. He's a good friend but a terrible influence when it comes to buying Rolexes. Thanks to all of you for the interesting posts, feedback and therapy on this crazy obsession. See you on the forum. -Dave p.s. my watch pic sucks but I felt compelled to provide some relief from all of the hairy arm Sub shots. Clearly my fellow asians aren't posting enough! |

Looks good on your wrist, you made a great choice. Looks pretty sharp from the crown guards. My favorite 5 digit diver.

Congrats. I bought a two-liner a couple months back and am still in love. I appreciate the quality more every day. I think the two line look is perfectly balanced, but you're right that at the end of the day it doesn't matter whether it's two or four.
For some Rolex heresy -- I put an after market glidelock style clasp on it and now I actually love the bracelet. Yes the bracelet is still noisy and cheap feeling, but on the wrist it's the most comfortable watch I've owned, which is all that matters. |

Excellent choice. 14060 is a classic...and I think you did it right by going with a 2-liner.

Congrats! The 14060 was my first Rolex too, and I still love it.
My advice is - leave TRF immediately if you want to keep your bank account intact! |

Thanks to all of you! Please tell me that I can enjoy my sub for at least a couple of weeks before this sick obsession comes back and I'm on the hunt for an Explorer II! At least I know I'm in good company!

Honeymoon period for me was a few days...then I added a DJ and Exp II within 2 years (which is a long time compared to some around here). Next will be a GMT II.
