Bumping this up... Anyone got any new info? Supposedly patekholic on IG has the pictures of the new releases and teased about should he release them?

My AD heard from a source at Patek that the new release will come in April and that the leaked specs, especially titanium and platinum case, are not correct. Whatever it is worth...

That's my AD's understanding as well.

It's really too bad that Patek wouldn't consider regular production 5711/1T and 5711/1P variants.

It really is too bad that Patek continues to try to be boring.

(And don't get me wrong, I love Patek, and have numerous in my possession.)

I think Patek is very far from being boring with the breadth and depth of their entire collection. Their recent 6300a and 6301p are technical marvels and they have used titanium on special releases. On the art front, they have applied enamelling, marquetry, guilloché and engraving in their watches which I thought not many manufacturers do. They have also released entry level watches such as the 5212 and pilots which are so refreshingly interesting and completely different from the rest of their collection.

Now if you ask me who are the boring manufacturers I can give you very quick answers...

Agree. I was looking into AP and tried to build a collection and relationship with my AP AD to eventually getting a 15202 but cannot find much other than ROs which interest me.

But for Patek, other than Nautilius and Aquanauts, there are so many other pieces which are interesting. In fact, I only have one more Nautilius on my wishlist and I am done with Nautilius/Aquanauts but there are a few other Pateks which perked my interest.

Forgive me, I meant in their sport watch line, which is the main topic of this thread (Naut & Aqau).

Again, disclaimer, I have several of them, myself, and love them.

Same here, I'm also looking to add more pieces outside the sport lines.

No worries but the perceived restraint on Nautilus models is due more to the Sterns' intent (quite publicly known) than their lack of creativity. I can understand this strategy of theirs to prevent themselves walking the RO rope

Yes, yes indeed.

I completely understand, agree, and respect that.

That said, it wouldn't be completely destructive if they came out with a regular production platinum and/or titanium piece for a change. You know, throw everyone a curveball once in a while.

Unfortunately, while I do agree with this... The market and the hype-machine already places Patek squarely on the RO tightrope.

All these leaks are the same thing that you see when Rolex is due to release something new. The leaks are never true and most of the time way off from the actual watch thats being released.

Actually, you do realize that there are some Rolex leaks that have been consistently true each year.

The Rolex "leaks" are often people guessing what Rolex will do, and some of those people (e.g., the Rolex Passion Report, and others) have consistently gotten it right.

That’s only because Rolex is very subtle with their changes and quite predictable. No one guessed the Air King or the sub going to 41mm. The only Rolex predictions that usually come true only have to do with color or a movement change. I havent seen these leaks predict any major change aspect.

That's a fair statement, but my argument in this thread contends that Patek is in the same boat (subtle changes, making it quite predictable -- i.e., "boring").

Titanium will finally make it as a Man watch.
I always seen it as too Girly.

This will be great!

Except for the 5524T-010, 5712T-001, 5208T-010, 5004T-001. But ok.

These brands, scarcity and the AD game is a turn off for me.

The games and fabricated scarcity across the watch industry have really picked up dramatically in the past two years. It makes collecting a lot less fun.
