Icon20 Help to authentify a GMT 1675/3 Nippel Dial of 1977

Dear Rolex experts,
It's my first post here so I ask your kindness and understood regarding some potential strange question or mistake that I will/can make.
I'm watchlover since several years and have a pretty collection with the time but no Rolex inside. I want since long to be the proud owner of a GMT of my birth year.
I fund on C24 a great piece which I love but I need your advice/help to "authentifiy" this piece through pictures (add)
1. I want to be 100% certain that's not a Frankenstein
2. I want to be 100% sure that this piece's from 1977 -> with the SN?!
3. Is the dial a real genuine one (I think)
4. Is this piece not over polished?

Thanks 1'000x to how will take the time to reply and assist me on these points, I wish you all a great Happy new year 2021 (with late) and a nice week.
Kind regards
Fred

I am not an expert and you should wait until they pop in, but I have one too with a 3.24 serial and yours looks to be in pretty good shape for a 40 year old watch. Insert looks very nice and the dial too and I believe both to be original, along with the hands. I think the insert should be gold on the back, not red. Hands have a nice patina but the hour hand is missing some lume material and may be the small specs on the dial face. The lume on the dial looks amazing. Of course none of it will glow for more than a few seconds. Hard to tell from these pics. It looks very clean and unmolested but again better pics needed. The bracelet looks correct too and is the Swiss version not the USA oval link on my watch. 450 endlinks I think correct too. Movement looks very clean too with not a mark on the screw heads. All that said wait for the real experts here. I like it! Don't know if this is the most accurate list but Bob's watches: https://www.bobswatches.com/rolex-serial-numbers

I'm going to give you my opinion, as the owner of a 1976 1675/3 and in love with this model

the dial is the authentic, brown matte dial, perfect.
the date disc is golden, perfect for the model, check that 6 and 9 are open, but it sure is like this
the bezel is perfect for the time, with the 8 oval flattened, perfect.

the 14 karat jubilee bracelet, perfect for the time since it is a series A, which refers to 1976.
the serial number of the watch matches the year 1977.

you have a perfectly original watch and everything in perfect condition, enjoy it and you can be totally calm.

Unfortunately you cannot be 100% sure that the watch is from 1977. With Rolex, approximate dating is all that is possible in this time-frame. If a 1977 is very important to you, I would recommend some other brands where you can know with 100% certainty, e.g. Seiko, Longines, Omega.

Regarding the other questions, I would like to see better photos, particularly of the crown guards, before commenting on the polishing.

Dear friendly Rolex members,

I wish to already thank you regarding the responses and advices that I get from some of you.
It's really kind and I can feel this Rolex passion which animate both of you (me including as soon as will get this beauty)
About the last reply of Dan S, I'm sade to read that's not possible to be 100% sure concerning the year. I check on the link give by Timelord2, the Bobswatches give me a date of 1978.
It's no possibility to get this date certification directly from Rolex?
Once again, thanks to all which replied me and I wish you a great week.
Kindly

My 1675/3 was bought in 1976 in an AD in Spain, they received it that same year from Rolex headquarters and my family member bought it the same year, 1976. My serial number is 414xxxx. and it matches many tables of dates on the internet.

The Rolex Bible! Thanks so much..;-)

Hi Rafabond,

Thank you so much for your pics of the Production dates page from the Rolex Bible, this information confirm me that the piece I will reach's a real 76-77 piece and seen the SN it's more at the end of this production period, it's clearly a 1977!!!
I'm so happy, thanks again and nice end of week to you!

The orig band links don’t have the fifty stamps, so they have been replaced.

Band detail

Hi Harry,

Thanks for your comment regarding the Band claps, it's a minor detail for me due to the fact that I will replace the band by a leather strap..;-)

According to that pic, it is clearly a 1976 piece. Other serial number posts place it in 1977. It is one of those things that wont be perfect and there is no guarantee that its true. Only speculation based on research since Rolex will not release this information.

That's just one more table of estimated dates IMO, and TBH it doesn't align very well with actual case-back stamp data.
