It's got to be a Rolex GMTc. A few other Rolex sports models have this issue too. The centre of the dial is not flat but sunken in! Defect or manufacturer limitation?

Tudor Black Bay...
I know it seems blasphemous, but I was disappointed- though not completely- with the Black Bay. It is too big and heavy for this cranky old fart! It led me to my Sub, the first Rolex I ever laid my hands on...

IWC portofino handwound on santoni strap. I was in love with the dial and the strap and I was able to get a great deal on it from a trusted seller on TRF. However, at 45mm it really was too big for me and was not getting any wrist time. Luckily my brother loves the piece, so I gifted it (I really hate selling a watch u bought at a great price at a very silly price)

My list here is unfortunately quite long...
All omegas feel insignificant on the wrist and/or low end Daytonas feel small and too light, except for the platona Sub no date - never "got it" 42mm explorer II... feels unbalanced to me. Oddly enough though, my 41mm DJ2 is perfect on the wrist. Tudor pelagos - too plain and no "pop" |

JLC geophysics universal time. Been eyeing it for a couple of months completely in love with it and was certain that I was gonna get it for my birthday. Then went to an AD with my wife to try it and it just doesn't look right on my wrist. My wife hated it which didn't help. I wanted to like it so much that I went back to try it two more times and the more I try it the less I like it. Nothing wrong with the watch and I still think it is one of the most handsome world timers, but just didn't do it for me.

Patek 5146r. Beautiful watch but at 39mm and very thin it doesn't sit right on the wrist. Too bad - it's an incredible value for a Patek annual calendar and beautiful to look at.

IWC Top Gun Miramar for me. In the first year it was back at the service center longer than I had it. Every time I would more than wave my arm the chrono hand would fall on its own. Went back a total of 4 times I think. It works fine now but after the last time I got it back from service there is a, hopefully extra, part that you can hear rattling around the case when you move it.

For me, it's every Patek. I've owned four and for what you have to pay, I think they are very over-rated.

They are Not all like that, however it is normal to have them either flat or concave.
Given a preference I prefer it would be flat.

Interesting - which 4? I absolutely agree PP is priced very (probably too) high but I don't think I have been 'underwhelmed' by mine (5990). Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

5276/A - noisy rotor and uncomfortable on the strap 3640J - too small and legibility 5167 - rotor still too noisy and proportions seemed off. Should have tried a 5165 5711 - beautiful dial but boring. Liked my AP 15202 much better so I sold it. I know it sounds crazy, but my daily now is an Omega AT which had a retail (at the time) of $5500. I like it better than any of the above. |

Mine was a Tag Heuer Carrera Chronograph Calibre 16. Looked nice in photos but not quite my taste in person. Strap wasn't too comfortable and the feeling when winding the crown wasn't as smooth as one would expect.

Tudor Heritage Black Bay Black - the newer in house movement model. Looked good online but very underwhelming in person.

I usually don't flip watches but my Daytona lasted less than a year. Too small and no date and couldn't read the chrono. Great looking in pics just not on my wrist.
On the opposite spectrum,- the Pam 526 tried to love it - but I couldnt get past 47mms. Don't miss either! |

Lange Datograph, had seen the perpetual but was so in awe over the movement that I didn't even put it on, for some time I decided between getting a WG perpetual, a 035 RM or a Voutilainen, as most know I went for the Voutilainen, but I still was in awe over the movement and thought that since I won't have the cash for a perp I might still get a regular Datograph, until I tried one on last time when I went to get my 5167R from Zurich, and it sits so awfully on me, maybe you get used to it, not sure, but it just looks like you are wearing a hockey puck, and to think I almost was ready to get a 39mm unseen, too bad as I really find them interesting, especially the Zeitwerk and Datograph, but it sits too strange IMO

Probably my Explorer I 36mm. Not that it's a bad piece. I just wish I went for a better example.

me too Rob... not the worst, but not very excited with it. It wears "small" to me. Somehow or other my DJs at 36mm seem to wear bigger. Mine was clean. And ran great. I sold it on eBay and the buyer said he gave it to his wife, also feeling it just wore smaller. I hate to say it and don't want to offend, but I was disappointed with the 214270 as well, the bigger one...

I thought it looked great, but the size, the thickness just disappointed me. It's such a popular and well loved watch... I also thought it looked great w every NATO I put on...

The Corum Admiral Cup. Bought on impulse. But within weeks into ownership, the inferior finishing and mundane looks made me can't wait to get rid of it. Lost a big bundle too as resale is so bad. I heard this brand has been sold to the Chinese.
Taught me a good lesson though. Never impulse buy.

Corum was purchased by a Chinese investment group (Citychamp Watch & Jewellery Group Ltd), who also acquired Eterna (in 2011) when Porsche Design sold them and set about building their own manufacturing facility (which launched its first pieces in June/July 2016). They also own Dreyfuss and Rotary brands. The Eterna Cal 39 is a nice movement – one properly sized for modern watch sizes (39-40mm+) – so I’m keen to see how they expand that side of the business and offer a much improved PR of 60-65 hours instead of the usual 40-45 from the ETAs, etc. |

Omega seamaster 600m. Way, way too heavy and thick for my taste.
Tudor heritage chrono. I was so excited to try this watch on, given the glowing reviews on sites like Hodinkee, and it looked great in pics. But, the construction felt really cheap to me. It also could have benefited from being thinner. |
