The watch in Canada retails for $9,650.00 Can and it was purchased for $8,110.00Can. The Canadian dollar is trading at 92.40 US today. I paid sales tax on the discounted sales price like any other purchase.

The watch still has all the stickers and has not been sized. It is a BNIB watch. It is not my first new Rolex. It is my 5th. The reason I asked if it was a good deal is because it was the first Rolex I have bought with so little discount. However, I
am not unaware that this is a new and for now, rare model.

From everyone's comments, I feel I did OK. Thanks

But I think it's besides the point. For some odd reason I read the OP as though he had purchased a BLNR bezel. Apparently I was the only one. Everyone else seemed to understand he had bought the whole watch. DOH!!
You aren't the only one... took me until the last post before this to realize the OP bought the whole watch

In any case, congrats and enjoy what many consider one of if not the nicest contemporary Rolex watch!

Are your other 4 watches precious metal or SS pieces? We are all surprised that you got 15% off a blnr right now, when actually it is the smallest discount you have ever had on a Rolex, if I am reading that correctly. You must be a master negotiator. Are you looking for a job? haha
Congratulations also on an amazing piece by the way. I'm sure you will love it.

So with the tax and conversion, you got it for around $8500 USD. That's pretty good deal considering grey market dealers are selling for more on the forum. Congrats!

You are right. Three are TT and one white gold(ladies watch). This is the first SS.

This was the only one in stock and it was not in the display case. I think they did not want to remove the stickers for some reason.

I had only seen pictures of the Batman and went in the store hoping to see the real thing. One thing led to another, yada, yada, yada, I ended up with the watch.

I think the discount you received on your purchase was a great one considering the current status of this watch (not rare, but very popular). The AD's in Vancouver, BC are applying a minimal discount (5%) if any to the purchase of this watch. Like you, I was fortunate enough to pick mine up for a discounted price (13% off). We should consider ourselves lucky. It is too bad the purchase of our watches happened after the price increased in Canada on May 1st. Chances are, the AD's may not have had the watch available prior to May 1st in my area. At this moment, it is all about timing for the BLNR. Not too sure how it is in Ontario.

i bought the watch (blnr) for 12% off sticker and shipped out of state to save on taxes..one ad gave 0% discount, but found it at another ad i recently purchased from..my experience is that if you are a regular or have purchased from them before they are willing to give you a discount to save the business..

For Sure.... It's one of the reasons I would never get one... If anybody ever said I had a Batman watch I would feel like I bought toy instead of a high end Rolex. ..

I dislike the nickname "Batman," too, but today I was reading a forum where someone asked what BLNR stood far.

On of the responses was, "Batman likes new Rolex."

I still don't like the Batman nickname, but at least someone put a humorous spin on it.

I'm not sure I understand this logic. The term Batman is just another name that some bandied about in search of a good nickname.

It has been largely rejected, though there are some hangers on, like the salespeople at my AD calling the BLNR the "Bruiser."

There is certainly nothing intrinsic in the watch that suggest Batman, except as some people see, just as people see Jesus on a piece of burnt toast or a Buick Regal in some cloud formation.

For myself, I know what the GMTII stands for and what an incredible watch it is and what an incredible rendition the BLNR is.

I'm certainly not going to let some knucklehead put me off because he calls it buy a name I don't like.

At least, its not like the Omega Seamaster with 007 plastered all over.

Batman is a no good name for the BLNR

Why not call it Night and Day. That tells more about the watch.

Batman is still better than Smurf, how the hell did that name settle on a luxurious WG watch?

You did well. Discounts can be achieved on both SS Daytona and BLNR if you have good relationship with AD.

Enjoy your BLNR.

Agreed. We accept Smurf and Hulk and also a bunch of soft drink names, so why not Batman? Personally, I prefer BLNR, but don't have a problem with Batman.

I have been wearing my "batman" a week now. Love the watch. Great jeans and runners look.

That being said, my TT "Bluesy" is still my fav and in my opinion the watch that really personifies ROLEX. Of course, this is all subjective.
