Honestly — Is there more interest around what Rolex is discontinuing vs. releasing?

For me it is, I've been eyeing a few models. Hoping that they don't discontinue so I have a chance at an AD purchase...

I'm interested in seeing both sides about the same tbh. Not always apparent right away of everything that has been discontinued, until you start digging around on the website.

Rolex really doesn’t make a big deal about discontinued models. They just quit making and selling them and they disappear from the website.

Assuming the leaked video from today is true, I'm far more interested in what's being discontinued.

Yes for me, as I’m currently waiting for a GMT so I hope it’s not discontinued. Based on the leaks the new models don’t do anything for me, and the black/grey GMT is too similar to my sub.

I’d also go as far to say that I’m more interested in what Tudor comes out with than Rolex. Not had a Tudor in the collection for a couple of years and could be tempted to add one back in if there’s something of interest…

I was lucky enough to get a GMT Pepsi from an AD. I hope it is NOT discontinued so everyone who wants one from an AD has a chance to get one. I will never understand the mentality of “I hope it gets discontinued.” Honestly, it sounds like a selfish child who wants to keep a toy to himself and not let others play.

It is a rude approach. You have it so the others can f.ck up now.

About the same for me. Likewise the other watch brands I like.

Lost interest in the brand really having had no luck for years getting a fairly “easy” model. It has become boring. Taken months off of the forum and only recently come back to it. They make a few gorgeous pieces but that’s not especially relevant to me at the moment. Will be taking another hiatus

Seriously, though, just by chance, most of the Rolex watches I’ve bought have been discontinued (116710 BLNR, 116503-0009, 277200-0008) so now I have a morbid curiosity.

I had been predicting the demise of the DeepSea JC based on its 10 year anniversary but I’m apparently wrong(ish) as the 136660-003 is now the 136660-005. So the JC is still available though my model is technically DC’d.

Cheers!

Have to agree today it's all about ££$€€ especially when some think about this or that being discontinued.

PADI, yes it can be disheartening to see how there's been a very big increase in TRF members over recent years who seem more about the financial side (profiteering). Well... maybe not ALL about profit, as there are the intangibles such as hurt egos i guess.

Keep on enjoying your time PADI, love ya just the way you are
