To be honest with you, the lines are a bit thick and saturated unless it is the ink I am using. So far, I've only tried it with Private Reserve ink and still have yet to fill it with Aurora ink.

What size nib are you using? you might want to take it back and have them fit a finer nib.

It has a M nib. Can any size nib be fitted on any pen?

Yes indeed, the actual pen body is just the holder for the important bits, the nib and feed.
I stand to be corrected on this but I believe that the nib on the studio is the same as on the Safari and as such is a breeze to replace and cheap to boot!
Double check with the place you got it from but if this is so then just buy a fine or extra fine nib (in these parts they run to $11 but as per usual I am sure they are cheaper in the states!). The easiest way to take them off is to apply a piece of scotch tape to the nib ( I would recommend clearing the ink out first though this can be done on the fly!) and gently pull, the nib comes off very easily, then, making sure to line the new nib up correctly (very easy) just gently push it into place.
This is a Godsend and a wonderful feature of these pens as it allows you to play around with nibs!
Hope that helps.
Oh yes, this is one of the few fountain pens that allow this, most require specialist tools!

It's funny how things make sense to us when we write them but may not be clear to others. When I wrote "What a great idea for a thread!," I was referring to this one. This is so enjoyable, but just like with watches, it whets your appetite for more pens . . . and more . . . and more. I hope this type of thread becomes a regular part of this section.

If a forum member takes over 30 minutes to post photos after bringing them home, there should be some kind punishment dealt out to such a rascal!!! Indeed!!!

I am counting the minutes down on my Bluesy!

You still have your iphone mate. Stop making excuses
So, what did you buy?
I bought the 1995 PoA and the 2000 WE today. I think I've done enough for a long time.

I was thinking the same thing about the phone. Is it also possible to scan them onto your computer and then upload the picture. You're holding out on us, and our inquiring minds want to know about these goodies.

He'll say the scanner glass will scratch his pens so no dice, or the ultraviolet the scanner shines onto the pens would be damaging to the precious resin. all kinds of bollocks.
Steve, what did you buy?

The Lamy Safari's are some of the best writing instrument on earth for the money. I love the two that I have and the nibs are easily interchanged without any trouble at all!

Congrats Steve!!!

Thanks guys, yes, I had a Safari many years ago, and I sold it to someone. I think you are right Richard, these are good value for money writers, and the nibs can be changed out easily.

The italic nib seems a bit scratchy but I'm told it will get smoother if I write with it a lot.

Love the demonstrator Steve, I have the limited edition oranange fitted with the 1.5 italic, what a nib! Be prepared to go through the ink with that one, it lays down a nice wet line!
