Bluetooth speakers (portable)

Hey All,
Now that I have my Iphone I was told I can use a Bluetooth enabled speaker to play my music. So figured I would come to my friends and ask for your input on which one you like. The pros and cons etc of each type. I have seen the Jawbone, Bose, and UP by Verizon. If others have options on some other speakers would appreciate hearing your thoughts. I think it is cool I can control the speaker with my phone. Why even by a car stereo system now when you can have your music on your phone and produce great sound from one of these portable speakers. The sound from the 3 I heard was amazing.
Thanks for your input all!

Happy New Year!

Tom

I tried all of these while shopping for TVs for Christmas over the past couple of weeks. The sound quality from the jawbone is by far better than the others. I saw people at costco returning the others and keeping the jawbones.

I have the Jawbone and the quality is very nice. I'm no audiophile, but it fits the bill for small, portable speaker. It's never going to match a full sound system, but they can fill a decent sized room and are clear and crisp. Almost everybody is surprised when they first hear it.

I just bought my kids the Logitech portable Boom box Bluetooth speaker. They fit in the palm of your hand and sound incredible. They will work for 8 hours on a charge. Very reasonable cost. They are sold in the Apple store and online.

I have the portable bose soundlink II. Not the cheapest but they pack some punch. Battery lasts around 8 hours depending on volume usage. U can save power by using the old skool 3.5mm aux and bypass the bluetooth. They are not a replacement for a permanent solution but the flexibilty of being portable and wireless is perfect for travel or garden use. The cover is tough enough to handle everyday bangs and scrapes.

I have the Jam Box and have used it for over a year. Great sound, easy to pair and for me, great battery life. I am getting more than 10 hours on a charge. For the money it is the best in my opinion.

Love mine - works great around the pool or when I shovel snow now that it's winter here. Great build quality, rich sound and price point is not bad either.

I've had bose docks for years, the new Bluetooth one is great. We use it all the time when outside grilling/yardwork etc.

+2, we bought these for our son, it is small but sound is incredible for size. I think bass in the Bose sounds much better than competitors but best to listen to different ones and get what you like.

We were just in the market too and I bought the JBL Flip. The reviews were great and we've not been disappointed. The sound quality is great and it was only $99.

Get the big Jambox at the Lihue Costco and I guarantee you will be very happy.

I have the little one and am thinking of upgrading.

I have the little JawBone and love it. Perfect for my use. I am thinking of getting the big Jam Box for times I need louder volume.

Late to comment, but the JBL flip is great. The mids are a bit better than the DrDre thing, and overall the sound is better than all but the bose. The JBL fits in your hand, but the bose is quite a bit bigger.

I have the big Jam Box by Jawbone as well. So far so good. Plus unlike Bose, you can get it at a discount.

The Mini Link was one I had thought of, but it seems to have to be on the base to charge it. I figure I can charge my Jam Box off my car if needed through the 110v outlet.

Ultimate Ears Mini Boom... Pretty good, nice frequency response. I use it in my office at work. Perfect for that.

I just bought the BEM Bluetooth speaker at Costco. Not an audiophile, so I don't need perfect sound.

2 1/2" cubed, $35, battery powered with 10 hour life, and sounds good to my ears. Connected easily to my iphone.

I didn't see the need to spend $200 to Beats Audio or $135 on jawbone.

Bose sound link II, miles ahead of others in a comparable price range.
