Well, it was time to Wash the NATO...

...off the DJ, under the tap, brush ready, no soap. Only thing handy was shampoo, Now my manly 50 year old 1603 on it's super tough NATO smells like peach ice cream.

Fantastic! How'd you get that buckle to work on the NATO. Isn't it 16mm?

there are a slew of aftermarket buckles that are larger sized on the net.The crown on that one looks like the aftermarket ones I have seen.

There’s a WG 20mm buckle.

Edit: My bad. The Rolex WG buckle is 18mm. Hence this is probably something more creative.

Nothing tougher than a Bond nato that smells like an 8th grade girl!

Nice attention to detail on the tang, by the way.

I like Rolex buckles, nice finishing touch. If Rolex made a 20mm I would have some. Sorry if this sort of thing frightens you youngsters. :)

I tried putting a dirty NATO strap in the dishwasher next to the spoons. It was a test, just to see what would happen. No complaints, came out fine.

Not being frightened (nor young*), do you have a source for these buckles you’d share? Seems most of them are advertised as “18 mm but fits 20mm strap.”

* - Nor proud, nor tired (Apologies to Arlo Guthrie)

It's been many years since those fell off the back of a fish truck and I have no clue where that truck might be.
