Case back sticker help, please!

I bought a semi vintage watch with case back sticker in place. I want to wear the watch but not smudge off and lose the sticker (skin, heat, sweat etc).

How to preserve the sticker?

All guidance appreciate!

Please take off the sticker. It is not meant to be worn.

Preserve the sticker by placing another sticker on top....never wear a watch without stickers, the insanity!

Peel it off and swab the caseback area with disinfectant.

Thanks everyone! So, once peeled off, do folks tend to save them along with the papers (ie stick it into the certificate etc)?

If you really want to save it, on the original papers is as good a place as any.

Yes, peel it off and keep it with the trinkets and papers. Gross to keep it on, and doesn't change the value even a cent.

Take it off, all they do is trap disgusting crud underneath them. Stuff that smells like death.

What’s the common view on this? I’m torn — case back stickers always feature prominently in adverts by key sellers here (and they’re not removed by sellers If they’re in place) and do indicate low usage and mileage. Not sure I’d pay much more but they indicate a watch that’s been used less.

Thoughts?

I peeled off every little piece of plastic and stickers and tossed, the only thing I kept was the hang tag, manual and boxes.

Please don’t wear with that sticker on the case back it will get nasty

I put my case back sticker in this and display it next to my Mickey Mantle rookie card.

Toss the sticker before you contract a flesh-eating bacteria.

Very funny , just got a 16200 today - the sticker is so "Purty" hate to peel it

it does lead me to believe the watch was not worn much

I was intrigued by the "help, please!" in the title, like there was an emergency occurring.

So, peel it and throw it away (majority view)? Peel it and keep it on papers?

Let's see a photo of this mystery "semi-vintage" sticker.

Real vintage case-back stickers are great to have and save. I have one from my 6263 and 16700. They add a little to value, especially if they're part of a full set. But on more modern watches, it's minimal, if any.

Go to any watchmaker and ask for sticker protector fluid. You only need a few drops, it will stay in place for another 10 years.

Fascinating Mitch. I’ve never heard of this but could be the solution! Is there a brand name? I assume it simply hardens? Any addition info appreciated.

They make clear caseback stickers. I have a pack of them. If you want to preserve the sticker on the watch, this is your best bet. Here's an example that has a red line to help you see it.
