Vintage Tudor 7032 question
Do any of you guys know where I can learn more about these?
I looked on VRF and did a few google searches but did not see anything that great on them. Anywhere else to look? I've found a 1971-7032 here locally as a head only. The gentleman wants to sell it and I don't think he knows what it could be worth. He knows it's worth "something" as he had it serviced. I saw prices all over the place so MUCH more research is needed on my part. I am going to try to get some photos tomorrow for you experts. Until then I'm trying to learn a bit more about them and the variations. |

i think it is worth a lot of money. not 5 digit money, but close. however, these models are faked like crazy, so bring a magnifying glass to inspect the serial number stampings and read about it as much as you can.

+1. High chance on a problematic purchase. I guess it will be hard to make pictures without raising too much suspicion?

i think that Orchi had a closeup of the dials of those watches on a link a few weeks back. the dials have a Grain to them that can help you spot a legit one. PM Orchi for this... i have no idea if he's correct, but it was a supercool observation and at least this could help you get the courage to make an offer to seller or not. You know about the LONG E fake cases that plague Tudors, right ?

there is a good episode of Pawn Stars (dunno if you watch the show) where a woman who is clearly quite ignorant hands him a gold spider booch made by Faberge. it was incredible, and it was in the Faberge box. he asked what she wanted and she said $1k. he said, "i cant in good conceince just give you that". Then offered her something like $13 grand . it was funny because she then tried to negotiate more and he got upset. clearly if this was off any other deal and off camera, she would have walked out of there a thousand richer and completely ripped off. good luck finding that zone between being fair and not entirely ripping him off. i have never been in such a situation but i dont know what i would do. he should be able to find out a rough idea of its net worth with simple computer skills. if not, dont underestimate the risk you are taking... the chances of it being fake are good, adn the guts could have been replaced 20 years ago. build this into your offer.
