How does it sit?
Hello fellas!
I am looking to add an AP piece to my collection and needing inputs from folks on here with knowledge”. I am seriously looking at the AUDEMARS PIGUET Royal Oak Offshore Diver 42mm 15710ST. I have never seen it in the flesh and do not live anywhere near an AP dealer to have a chance. My wrist size is exactly 7 inches (178mm) and would like to get some input/opinion how it may rest on my wrist. Thank you! |

7 inches should be fine for a 42mm offshore, but it will look big, which is kindof the point. I've tried a 44mm offshore on my 7.25 in wrist, and while quite large, it did fit. Also, a better place to ask might be the AP section of the forum.

You can try one on at any grey dealer. Make sure you do, don't just buy online unseen. It's a chunky watch

They wear very large. Add a couple mm of wear size to whatever they list.

Ditched mine as the movement was too sensitive. Lots of failures.

Genta designed the AP Royal Oak as an elegant sporty dress watch. For a tough sports watch, I would look else where

7 inch wrist as well. Diver on bracelet shown. It fits and feels fine but I like watches with substance. Not as good as some of the other pics in the post but another perspective. I max out at 42mm.

Its definitely not small but I have had up to 4 Offshores in my possession at one time, this is now the only 1 I have left and its staying. Its big but at 7", I personally think it wears well and is supposed to be large. Would I have it as a one and only? No, no way.

6.5” wrist - never feels oversize. More important than wrist size is your arm and body size, these make more of an impact on how it looks than carpal circumference. So if you think you can wear it, then go for it. It’s an awesome watch !

I wear mine on the smallest strap hole and I think the scale is fine. Sits flat and super comfortable.

Like many have pointed out it wears "large" at 42mm partly due to the height.
If you've worn Panerai 44mm you'll have a feeling for how it sits on the wrist. In addition, the white dial (to me) version looked much larger on my wrist than the black dial. |

Get your hands on it first. I bought one without trying it on and quickly traded it back in for another pieces. The thickness is a bit much for me and the rubber strap didn't feel great for me. I traded it towards an ROC witch I love if that helps at all.

Will wear just fine. A friend of mine has one on his 7” wrist and it works perfectly. I just about get away with it on my 6.5” wrist.
