Yep definitely a DSOTM. You can see the engraving if you pause it!

As you guys know I have a few omegas lol

I’m a regular client of 5th avenue and a client of the brand for years. I've chatted with the team and these are all speculations. No one really know as OMEGA doesn’t tell anyone

This would be very interesting if the white isn’t released. My boutique took a deposit for one and assures me it’s being announced at some point in next 2 months.

My AD tells me this is real and will drop in the next week - 2 wks. Who knows for sure. Also told that it will not be a ltd edition. As many here say, if these are released, then they will be snapped up quickly at least in the beginning. With that in mind, since I am on 'the list', would resellers be paying over list for these in the event I didn't want to keep it? Appreciate the insight.

I've never sold a watch, but it's nice to know you can get out at a profit or without a big hit if you decided to. Pretty reasonable question IMO and important thing to know about any large purchase you might make.....but I understand this can be a third rail topic, so thank you for any one who might care to entertain an answer.

No one can predict the future but if it's not limited you'll be lucky to get 80% of MSRP back.

If you can get a watch in the initial release then I would believe you will be able to make a small amount above msrp should you sell. If you wait until the watch is more readily available then you will not and could lose 10-30% off what you paid. These are the general numbers my experience has shown me.

New white speedy pro

The moment omega has a line that doesn't lose value after purchase the lines will start. That creates more demand out of thin air because it is seen as a risk free transaction like buying a submariner on a credit card.

I see Nashville has an Ed white for $17.5k. That's upside down already too. Man did I overpay last month.

Omega really have missed a trick here, they should have just released the white speedy and done this afterwards.
I feel a little let down and growing impatient for the white dial

Agree. Not sure whey they think there is a market for 44+mm watches anymore. And 16mm think? Come on Omega, you can do better

I prefer 44mm, Speedmaster's don't wear large. It's nice they make some models for larger wrists.

DSOTM is 13mm thick. So not sure where the 16mm is coming from. I will criticize Omega for their fat watches but I don't think this is one of them.

Overall, liked the original dark side of the moon more (311.92.44.30.01.001). It was always a watch I secretly wanted. Now, judging from pictures, it's just one degree too cartoonish. Still may buy the original used.

I really like my DSOTM...I'm a real sucker for bumblebee themes...if I didn't have the original I'd go for this one...I like the little rocket and updated movment is cool enough...but not enough to sell mine and get the new one.

They actually did do a lot better. First gen was about 14mm thick and this is 13mm thick.

At least Omega is actually listening to their customers on one thing which is thinner watches. Everything else though...

Yeah, and I understand that their watches do wear smaller than their stated size. But just that number 44.25mm is going to scare away customers who won't even go look at it. You would think by now they'd get that number down to 42-43 or simply lie about it like Rolex does.

So it's the number, not the size? Not saying you're wrong, because your not, but us mathematically minded people want to pull our hair out when we read things like that.

The OG DSOTM in 2014 was indeed a hair above 16mm thick. The apollo 8 dsotm was thinner at 13mm.

As with most speedmasters with crown guards, they typically wear 2mm smaller than their advertised size. So this 44.25mm watch wears closer to a 42mm, which unfortunately for me is still too damn big

On the plus side, my wallet gets to stay closed.
