Found an old Rolex

I found an old Rolex that belonged to my grandfather from his military time. Trying to see if anyone has any info on it or know what kind it is. I’ve searched for similar ones but couldn’t find anything. Thank you in advance.

Take off that awful Twist-o-Flex bracelet and you will find all the numbers you need stamped into the case, or alternatively, inside the case back.

Looks like a nice heirloom, I particularly like those bezels. We need more information to help you. Look for numbers and take good photos from all angles.

Thank you for the responses. I’m not 100% sure on how to take the band or the back off and don’t want to mess anything up. Any advice?

Take the watch to a watch repair shop and ask them to do it for you.

Don't try and take the back off, you need the right tool and it might be very tight anyway. You can look on YouTube for how to remove the band, but basically just use a wooden toothpick or similar shaped item to push the pins through through the holes in the lugs (case). Watch looks nice. Dial wording suggests pre 1960.

Looks like a 6303 semi bubbleback from the early 50's. what a beautiful heirloom. I love the hands, though their name eludes me at the moment.

Here are a few more pictures. Was able to read the numbers 6085 on one side of the band area and the numbers 723572

Reference 6085 from early 1950s

Calibre 645.

Refinished dial.

Crown retrofitted from Super Oyster to twin lock.

I’ve always thought they were sword hands?
