Possibly of getting a 5270p from AD

Is there any chance of getting a new 5270p from an AD without purchase history?

It depends on the dealer. But I'm going to say yes.

Don’t think the list of people spending 200k on a watch is that long.

Got it. Also, for more rare pieces how does purchase history work? If I buy 1 watch a year for 5-7 years will I maybe be offered a 5164r or 5711?

Depends on your AD. It is best to discuss with him/her as every dealer/case is different. But if you are getting a 5270p and a few more watches, I am sure something will work out eventually.

I think a lot of AD’s are concerned of flippers at this point. Seems crazy, 450000 for a steel 5711

5270P is one of my favorites.
Its a collector piece. I will add it soon :)

You should able to request it from AD without any issues. Good luck!

Its not about buying a watch for next 5-7 years. Build a strong relationship along with buyer power especially with management/ownership of the AD. You will receive the desire piece sooner than later. I repeat relationship is everything..

Yep beautiful timepiece, but if I were going to spend that much money on that piece I would humbly ask AD if he couldn’t get me a nautilus or an aquanaut in a reasonable period of time . If not then I would find one who would and make him or her my exclusive ad for pp. jmo James in San Antonio Tx

I saw one available in a case just a few weeks ago. If you’re in the states and interested, DM me.

Yes…saw one at a local AD as well. Also a 5270R bracelet version available at same AD. Call around and ask but the 5270P may be discontinued soon…

of course it all depends on your AD
however, 5270P and other grand complication pieces are not in high demand as your spors steel models mainly because of the price point.
so there are better chances of you getting a 5270P with out purchase history than getting a 5164R.

I agree that sports models are harder to source. But, price wise unless you can buy sports models at MSRP then you are out of luck otherwise you will need to spent $$$ for a used watch. I would rather use that money to buy myself a complication watch like a PC or even older model PCCs if I had to pay premium on the grey for a sports model.

The 5270P is a very slow moving piece.

Shouldn't be hard to procure one from an AD at all.

Only issue might be if you're an unknown, they might not want to order something this pricey on faith, so they might ask for a meaningful deposit.

Completely agree with you
I would too much rather spend my money on a PCC rather than a sports model

Isn’t it cheaper than list on the grey market? It can’t be that hard to get

It is.

Though, if you're interested in building an AD relationship, this is a good one to work that with.

I'm looking at the 5270p or an A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Perpetual as well. I have a small order history (5167A-001 and a Reverso) with an AD in Europe . Any chance they will bundle 1 of the 2 with a 5726/1A?

Why don't you just ask them?

Not trying to be offensive, but only your specific AD can provide feedback that is meaningful for your situation. If they don't want you can still shop around as your limited order history doesn't mean much compared to the PCCs you are considering to get now.

Yes ofcourse i can ask them. However to get a general feel whats possible and not in the current climate first would be better. Asking to bundle a 5270p with a green 5711 for example would be foolish and a waste of time

In my experience it is impossible to draw any general conclusions beyond avoiding ADs in large affluent markets and big chains.

Your idea of bundling a 5270P with a 5726/1A doesn't seem unreasonable and I'd just shop it around. Your existing purchase history won't count for much but a 5270P purchase should be a great point of entry at most smaller ADs.

Why? AD will be very keen to sell a 5270P. Ask them, worst they can say is no but....

You might have to wait for short period but most boutiques would love to have a client like you, they might even offer you with some Nautilus/Aquanaut too.
