Just my $.02

X2 Seth.
I think 2 solid pages of pretty solid retorts should suffice.

One woman at one of my clients puts an @ in front of my name when it appears in e-mails. I got sick of it so when I answered one of her messages, I put an @ in front of EVERY word so that she would know it was from me.

I haven't seen an @ in front of my name since.

She must have experience being on the old online forums back when they were message boards. You had to use the @ symbol to address a forum user and then it would tag them and let them know you started a discussion with them. That morphed into our quote feature in modern forum formats.

Annoying as hell outside of the forum world though! Serves no purpose. Just like using hashtags in email!! LOL

I don't think this thread went quite the way the OP had envisioned.

Things that annoy me? Don’t get me started…

People who still don’t get the distinction between “reply” and “reply to all” emails (but I don’t think that’s a recent trend).

Grammar/spelling issues: I’ve recently seen the misused “it’s” on what I thought were reputable watch blogs. No spell check? The flip side is that my iPhone’s autocorrect feature comes up with some bizarre suggestions, so if I’m typing too fast I don’t catch some of the errors.

I agree.

So many errors in such a short a sentence.

Could it be a new record?

How is the annoyance level compare to the Daytona/Nautilus trend? On the scale of 1 to 10...
