Holy cow I remember that thread and I can’t believe you’ve waited this entire time to wear it!!!
When I got my first Rolex it was supposed to be a Christmas gift from my wife but the AD came through ahead of schedule in October and those 2 months killed me! I can’t believe you held out for 18! Congrats on all fronts! |

Thank you everyone for the congratulatory messages!
It's true, I had to have a lot of willpower and patience to wait to wear the watch. However, it was also by necessity. On the day we were supposed to originally be married in May 2020, I put the watch on as I was going to wear it while we drove to get takeout from one of our favorite restaurants. I figured we were supposed to have been married that day so I should get to wear the watch.  Well my fiancee did not agree with that line of thinking and she said that it was supposed to be a wedding present and that if I wore it prior to that, it wouldn't be as special when I donned it for the wedding. So we got into an argument about it and I just decided to just put it away and wait. We discussed it a few times after that and she said if I wanted to wear it to go ahead and wear it but I know she would have been disappointed if I did so I just decided to not wear it until the actual day of the wedding.Though I did take a few sneak peeks at it throughout the months and even put it on my wrist briefly while I was at home just to get a feel for it. So willpower was needed but also I didn't want to argue about it...learning how to be a husband early and knowing which battles to fight.
