Explorer I - 39mm Latest version - Resale question

My friend is willing to sell me his one for quite a good price... it's only a few months old and he told me he's only worn it twice and it is immaculate from the pictures I've seen.

My question is... what's the resale like on them? I don't know if I'll like the watch.. I mean I do... but you never really know till you have it and wear it for a few days... (dem feels)

So I am always interested in the resale value as... well I hate wasting money (arguably you could call our hobby a waste of money anyway :P)

I'm not too bothered about losing £1-200. But he was looking for somewhere around £3.8k for it. Which is a fantastic price.

Thanks,

James

That seems like a pretty good deal for a barely worn one. If you want it I'd get it. They seem to be selling for around $6000 in excellent condition.

It's a good enough deal that unless you trashed it you would never lose money on it.

Yeah, leaning towards getting it and seeing if I bond with it! See it in the flesh etc (I've never seen a 39mm in real life... all the AD's around here totally sold out!)

That’s a good deal for an MK2 dial, about right from what I see on the grey sites for an MK1.

Whatever you do, don’t profit off of your friend’s generous buddy pricing. If you do end up selling, I’d give him the proceeds above what you paid him.
