My first new Rolex
So, recently got a nice chunk of a pay raise, and decided to use a portion of it to reward myself with my first new never-been-worn Rolex, a Datejust 41 blue 126300. I wanted it in Oystersteel with the blue dial, Oyster bracelet, and smooth bezel, but after a few months of searching gave up on finding one in stock anywhere and special ordered it from a shop in San Jose while I was there for business (bonus, living in Oregon for work saved me the sales taxes since I had it shipped).
Yesterday was the arrival day, and well, as I'm sure you all can appreciate, it exceeded my own hopes and expectations. I absolutely love this watch. The only downside I can see is that I've officially caught the bug and now I'm dying to buy another Rolex! LOL By the way, I found this forum because I was looking for information about the squeaking bracelet. Someone mentioned that a squeaky Rolex is kind of like new car smell, it's just a reminder you've got something brand new, and the only way to get it back once it goes away is to spend a lot more to get another one. LOL I love that that, and now it actually makes me smile every time I hear the little squeak from my wrist. I look forward to leaning on you founts of knowledge for any future acquisitions I pick up!
