My wallet is very pleased with the 2021 announcements.

I will turn my attention back to Ticketmaster and Live Nation for recreational spending.

I think they trolled a majority of the speculators lol.

I love the new stone dial on the DD40 RG and kinda digging the meteorite dials on the Daytona. The palm tree on the DJ36 is neat too! Overall, not bad. Very shocked at axing the 39mm Exp I and going back to 36mm. Not to mention a two tone!

The speculation and hype was bound to lead up to disappointment in the actual reveal. I have said it before but the 5 days between the teaser release and the reveal are the most fun, with an abundance of optimistic and bold predictions, and then the reveal itself is usually a disappointment to most.

Ditto- was just talking the other day with a friend how much $$ we are willing to spend to go see live concerts in NY/NJ/PA should the governors give their blessings ..

Scrambling to get in touch with my SA. I told him I’m looking at the explorer 1 months ago but now that it’s 36 I can’t fit the new model. Gotta hope a 39mm somehow makes it into my hands.

I couldn’t be happier! EXPII update is exactly what I hoped for. Same as before with a weekend worthy power reserve. I’ll order my long awaited polar today.

New DD and DJ dials are beautiful.

More GMT and SKY-D bracelet options are a plus...but given scarcity kind of a moot point. Wonder if the new Jubilee blue sky-d will go for more than the oyster?

Meteorite Daytonas will be a big hit IMO.

Never wanted a 36mm or 39mm Explorer but I am glad Rolex is listening to there collector base.

So happy they kept the EXPII mostly unchanged. I would have been very disappointed if it shrunk in size or went to ceramic.

Yaaaaawn

All those explorer II images going around with the ceramic bezels made me laugh. There was no way Rolex was going to make those.

i’m very pleased with expy 1 and expy 2 new releases! my current polar 216570 is just minimally modified for it’s 50th anniv commemoration edition. it’s an affirmation that 216570 is an excellent masterpiece! most of all the return of 36mm size not only in expy 1 shows that such size is classic and more proportion than the 41mm sizes!

Was trying to trade with a grey yesterday and was told they were all but guaranteed to be discontinued in 1 day and that prices would shoot up...as he tried to rob me lollllllllllllllllll

The most underwhelming releases I can remember in a long time. No early morning text or call to my AD this year.

Seems to me this is bau: Initial disappointment, then the wallets start to open . . . .

My retirement funds are secure, at least for another year.

This year’s release will hopefully now the old models I want will be easier to get as all the accessory changes will mean more availability and drop in grey prices. They strap introduced should hopefully mean the watch will start to be seen as less of an investment.

For the GMTs if you buy with one bracelet, will you be able to source the other from RSC or the AD?

The Daytona anniversary in two years may be interesting. It is curious there is always so much hype pre release where Rolex evolves slowly within their time tested lines. A huge release would actually be something they do not regularly do. The continuity of the product line is what helps the retained value of their watches. So there is an upside and a rationale to ho-hum releases.

I showed my wife the new Explorer TT video on rolex.com.

First comment - I love it - buy one - I’ll ring Adam and order one tomorrow - etc. etc.

My next comment - it’s 36mm.

My wife’s next comment - Well that was a FAIL.

One huge dropped ball.

Best release in a couple years, sans the two tone explorer.

This is clearly the laziest release I’ve ever seen from Rolex. Completely devoid of ideas, and yet it will all be lapped up as the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Nothing to see here. Move along. Move along.

Have to fully agree with you!

Thinking about those quickly rising prices for the Polar on the gray market... To end up with a watch that is essentially the same with a somewhat wider bracelet and the new movement. Bet a few are feeling like ...

I was on the camp of those who would not have minded a ceramic insert (heresy!) but are enjoying the irony of the self-disappointment for a release that is very much Rolex: super continuity with minimal changes.

Peace!

You'll get a new one at MRRP pretty easily in a few months, unless Rolex keep supply really low.

The ghost hands old black one might end up commanding a premium, have to wait and see.
