Opinions.... 422 vs 372
Thoughts on the two panerai models? Looking at either 372 or 422. Love the idea of the power reserve on the back of the 422. Love the 47mm sizes.
Any tips or help? |

Is a running seconds hand important?

I would choose the bigger engine.
Pix would have helped the decision?

372 all the way. The balance and proportions are just right. If you could find a 663 then even better. Tobacco dial and painted sausage numerals.

The 422 has a sapphire crystal so it will be heavier than a 372 with a plexiglass. Later 372’s has plexiglass crystals also. I would pick a 372 plexi

Both are great. The only issue with these two models is that they really only look good on leather.

This.
As for sapphire vs. plexi, I believe the 372 has had sapphire for a couple years now. One has to go pre-owned for plexi. This also is true. The vintage vibe does not lend itself well to rubber, IMHO. |

I have owned both a 422 and a 372. Still have the 372. For me the purity of the 372 won out. They are both the same case. Have had no issues with the plexi as it is simple to polish out any scratches.
