I have really liked a number of Panerai desk and wall clocks that I've seen. They seem well constructed and a fun addition. However, I've never owned one and so cannot speak to them beyond appreciating the clocks in various boutiques.

They're awesome and a recent 'price correction' has seen them cut by about 40%.

I almost went for it but my wife went berserk.

Paul, tell your wife to just buy "one" shoe next time she's shoe shopping and then she'll have enough left over to buy you a desk clock...

cheers

If I find that she's been buying shoes at eight grand a pair then her and me would be having quite an uncomfortable conversation. Oh yes. Oh yes, indeed!

The desk clocks are very interesting - they appear to be normal 47mm watches (with a modified movement to move the winder) with a large, magnifying glass to make the dial look bigger. I think they are pretty cool nonetheless and would definitely get one if I had several thousand of extra cash laying around...

I saw one on eBay a few weeks ago with a 'buy it now' price around $700. Seemed way too good to be true even though I WANTED it to be true. I compared the available pictures to those on the Panerai website. Certain parts, most notably the crown, and some of the movement details seemed off. I did not go for it, but someone ended up buying it.
