Required history with AD to get Nautilus in London
Hi All,
What is in your view / experience a probability of getting steel Nautilus from AD in London or to get on a waiting list if I purchased from them Calatrava 5296 however 5 years ago but nothing else? If it’s a waiting list then how long do you think it takes these days? 10yrs? Have been living abroad all these years and was lucky to get AP RO in Dubai, however now permanently back in the UK. Thank you! |

OP I’m going to go out on a limb and say within ~2 years time the new 5811 will be readily available on the secondary market at retail. This is just my gut feel based on how most PM nautilus and aquanaut pieces were selling prior to Covid.

No. I have prior Rolex purchase history but PP is in a different queue, I was told. You have to buy non-sport model first and then they will put you on the wish list. The situation is even non-sports model, there is a year or more waiting time, once you buy that, another yearssssssssss waiting for nautilus. So if you are so desperate to get it, go grey.

Buying one watch 5 years ago is as good as being non-existent to the AD imo.
Do you still have the watch? Maybe you can try looking for the same sales person if they’re still there and show you still have the watch, but I don’t think it will do much in today’s market. |

OP: good luck, and report back what your AD says. My sense is that you have little chance, but worth a shot. Why not?

Your AD will be in a far better position to answer you than anyone on an internet forum. Best of luck. |

Are you sure you are still in the "waiting list" after 5 years time?

You never actually own a Patek, you merely queue for the next generation :-)

The waiting lists are said the be Ordinal - first come first served - but if an A lister or regular PP customer wants one they are very likely to find they get one sooner than you - Cardinal listing. I suspect it’s a bit of both.
Luxury goods are by their nature rare, expensive and exclusive. The waiting list and supply control keeps them that way. You are made to feel special getting on the list and the suggestion you are worthy being put on it is part of the exclusivity club feeding your desire. If they were too freely available they wouldn't be luxury goods. Get to know the AD and the watch you want. Don’t buy what you don’t want. |
