Sorry to read about you knee problem young lady but you are looking good.

Take it easy with the rehab and don't push too hard.

Hope you are up and about soon.

Eddie.

Much success on your recovery and hope you are up and around as soon as possible.

My brother has had both knees replaced (a year apart) and I know how much it can improve your mobility.

Being watchful of therapy and rehab protocols is the key to your outcome.

Best of luck in a speedy recovery. I need to have my hip done and will be in your position relatively soon.

Thanks, yeah it does!
This ice machine is nice but doesn't provide any pressure, so it's not exactly like what you had.
I can't wait for the day where I feel "better" than the day before. The pain meds haven't been right for me, so I'm suffering quite a bit more than I feel I should

One day at a time. Things will get better. My 12 yr old daughter just got a full set of braces on her teeth today. Giving her Ibuprofen and telling her in a day or two things will feel better.

All the best for a quick recovery and a pain free knee. My brother(50) just had his done on July 3rd-he will be inpatient at Brooks Rehab for 3 weeks then outpatient rehab(tbd how long).

Recovery time will not be overnight but hopefully both of you will be on the mend soon.

Take care-Scott

I had my surgery when I was playing sports and super athletic at 15, I couldn't imagine having it done now at about twice that age. I wish you the best of luck, hopefully things turn around for you! Just remember the physical therapy is just as important as the surgery itself!

The surgeons decided this was the best course of action. I've had 6 surgeries in this knee before, dating back 20 to 2 years, and there wasn't anything left to do to fix it.
I'm 38, so this wasn't a light decision from either parties.

Hope you have an easy recovery.

I used to work with a guy that needed this on both knees. He put it off for over 20 years, finally bit the bullet in his late 60's and did both at once.

After 2 months he was mad at himself that he hadn't done it years before and instead chose to suffer.

Thanks. I know that's the most common story I keep hearing. I'm only a week out now and the pain is pretty severe, but nothing I didn't expect. It is just so inconvenient, especially since I'm usually a very active, involved and busy mom! This plain sucks!

Oh yeah, they're great helpers! 7yo boy and 9yo girl. They're in dance, swimming, and baking camp and I am their personal chauffeur, cheerleader, cook, maid, story teller, etc. so to now have to leave it all up to my husband is tough to say it mildly

Keep it up Vanessa. In this case no pain no gain applies. I’ve known a couple people who have gone through similar situations. PT is the key and it hurts in the beginning. You can do it!!!!!!

Thanks. I know I know, PT is my friend! I've been there hundreds of time. This was my 19th surgery so I understand the process, unfortunately.
Thank you for the encouragement!

Wow, good luck with your recovery. It’s been about six weeks since my knee operation but it was just a repair and I’m back at work. Nothing when compared to yours I’m sure.
