Wow, lucky to be alive. So much for getting used to the car first (or saving that for the track). Live and learn I guess, or can only hope.

Annual Premium = purchase price of his next car + claims processing costs.

Now if the steering wheel was on the correct side of the car, he’d probably have walked away from that.

I’m of the opinion that if a buyer isn’t holding a competition license these should be sold in pairs.

All too common. Selling super cars to people who aren’t skilled drivers is like selling crack to kids.

That is a twisty road and he clearly did not deserve the car.

I feel bad for the car, not him.

I periodically go to this Cars & Coffee meet on Saturday mornings. This is unfortunately a common occurrence, and I am not surprised at all.

This is like the fifth incident to make it to the press, but I’m sure there have so many more. Similar thing happened with a GT3RS a few years back, guy buys dream car, dies on the way home from the car meet.

The roads can inspire overconfidence, but you need to be an idiot to end up totaling your car. I bet traction control was off.

Better go hug an engineer after walking away from that with non-life-threaning injuries.

There should be a driving course or training for people that buy cars like that. Or maybe just use common sense.

We had a legal statement all owners had to sign before they could pickup their 911/930 after significant racing modifications.

Dang :/

I saw an accident his morning too. An attorney's van was there, and they were recording everything.

That's the first time that I see this.

Have you guys seen that before?

An accident occurs, there are police officers everywhere, and an attorney's van there, recording everything

ha. I read that the other day and laughed.

I honestly don't mean to laugh.

and I am generally super duper conservative on the road. but I am scared this will someday be me.

I feel like I have great control. but no always. and clearly these machines are way more powerful that most of us realize.

This guys Mclaren lasted 24 hours !

I'd like to see the curve and more of the road. Seems like the driver was out of his league with the car's power.

Looks like a fun road I'd like to let loose on!

No, that is the problem.

It is a narrow curvy windy road bordered by houses and leading to Great Falls National Park so it is crowded with traffic and has traffic lights as well as blind curves with hills. Walker Road has a 35 mph limit that drops to 25 mph in some areas.

Not a road to do any kind of driving other than being very careful.

Wow crazy. I owned the 12c when it came out. Ended up trading it for a 458 spider after 6 months. But now want another Mclaren since they have a really good line up.
