Visit to Universal Studios Orlando

The plan is to leave by 6am tomorrow and stop off for lunch in Tallahassee. Should then make it to Universal around 4pm.

Been reading/hearing a lot of comments about how few people are there now and am hoping that holds up for the holiday weekend.

Wife is diabetic so we have a doctor's excuse for free express passes which should also help if the crowds are bad.

Hope to have a good time, but will report back next week with pictures, etc.

Be careful and have fun. I would bring lots of gloves.

Thanks, I'm told they have antibacterial stations set up at the entry/exit of each ride, as well as virtual queues. With those you can use the app to reserve a spot in line rather than actually waiting there with other people. It's pretty clever and helps immensely with social distancing.

The park is at 50% admittance capacity.
My buddy in Orlando tells me the local hotels are at 30-40% capacity.
There appears to be a lot of visitors from other parts of Florida traveling by car to take advantage of the much smaller park crowds. Not many flying in from all over the place as usual. Have fun.

I have no idea why one would go from a non-hotspot area to a hotspot area right now after what I just dealt with in a hotspot area for the last 3 months.

Go and have a great time! Fewer people in parks is a win.

Every day you wake up is risk. Driving a car adds risk. You're either busy living or busy dying.

Sooo, diabetes puts one in the high risk category. I mean to each his own, but why?
Its a gamble with very high steaks and you headed to a very high risk area. Hospitalized Covid 19 patients with diabetes are about 20% of ICU patients. Not sure what your ages are, or other pre-existing conditions, but help me understand the level of rationalization where its like sure, not us, some other poor dope will get COVID not us. Well be just fine.

This idea of every day is a risk is absolutely nonsensical. Its like well, every day is a risk, so dont wear a seat belt, don't exercise, drink to you puke, etc.
