Yes. Water helps. This is why yogis and the kale avocados don’t get them.

And dirty martinis and sodium is like fertilizer for them.

It was close to the door with ID ready. Seems the bouncer sent it back to the end. Maybe they don’t like stoners.

Ouch! You've certainly earned this. That watch will always have a great story behind it.

If it’s back in your kidney, can they use lithotripsy??

Wait, was it already in your ureter?

Following my lithotripsy, 2 weeks of razor pee, I asked my doctor if it was possible for the stone to retract into my kidney. He said it was impossible for the doorman to deny Stoney entry to the bladder and for him to return home. Things just didn’t work that way.

You need to crank up the Urethra Franklin music. That usually drives them out.

Urologist here, with a very busy stone practice.

Yes, stones can go back into the kidney if they are up near the kidney. Think along the lines of a ball-valve. It can intermittently obstruct the kidney and cause pain.

Staying hydrated will help decrease chances of formation. You need to void around 2 liters daily, so probably need to drink about 3-4 liters water daily. Yes, it’s a LOT. But the key is the output. Need it to > 2L.

Shockwave lithotripsy is effective for stones in the kidney, but certain parameters (specific to you) can help determine efficacy of the treatment, namely the density of your stone and the distance of the stone from your skin, both measured on your CT scan.

Good luck

I got an infection after surgery and that sucked big time. I also have bouts of diverticulitis and usually need a scan to determine if it's a stone or the other issue. Neither condition is much fun as you either already unfortunately know or can imagine.

SOME urologists don't much of a sense of humor. I try to get a chuckle out of them by saying that a vasectomy makes a vas deferens in your life. No chuckle and I give up.

My future kidney stone experiences just got exponentially worse.

I believe my stone was near the bladder when my doc said it couldn’t go back home. I’ll just have to keep that in mind.

That was good. Made me laugh.

Maybe buy the watch, then wear it for the first time, once you pass the stone. Anyhow, feel better, and take care of yourself.

What will I do after I pass CJ’s kidney stone...

Have had five my friend, one removed surgically the others all found their own way. One hurt for an hour, and out. Another I was standing over the toilet peeing and PLUNK! WTH!? Never felt a thing. Two others were mis-diagnosed as prostitius and popped out, thanks Urologist.

Wishing you all the best CJ. As with everything else....

This too, shall pass.
