That was my first Rolex, but with turned SS bezel. Love that Roman white dial - looks amazing. Great choice.

I had that one once

really liked it but the total lack of any lume was an annoyance.

Good call. Love the dome bezel and the roman num. There's plenty of time for the subs and all the rest. Lets face it , if we were all totally contint with only one watch we would'nt be enjoying each others company right now.....A very fine choice.

Very Nice but I prefer the Arabic numbers they have Lume, also if it was a DJ for me it would be DJ II Arabic. But we are not talking about me, We are talking about you and if that watch talks to you then that's the one. I think you need to try the ones you mention 1st and actually see this watch in person before you make up your mind though. good luck

I think that combo is perfect, so much I have two. One old and one new.

The oyster bracelet with smooth bezel is a good combo, but to add a little more flair the romans over stick adds just the right balance. All of course, IMHO.

Also if you are patient, you can get a good new style pre-owned model with this set up for around $3200 give or take a few.

DJ is only 36mm, while Sub and GMT are both 40mm. The DJ was too small for me.

If that one speaks to you then, you should consider it. But, to me, a 36mm watch is too small and I'm not fond of Roman numeral dials. They're just too busy for my taste. What size is your wrist? If it's over 7 inches, and you like white dials, you could consider an Explorer II with white dial. That would be my choice. Enjoy whatever Rolex you decide on.

My Brother has a tag with a standard 7" braclet, and it twists on my wrist...A little too loose. His tag is 38.4mm and its not too small but its not huge either....

I love it! A great choice. The Roman Numerals work really well.

I love this model especially with the fluted WG bezel. White or black looks lovely. It looks stunning. Really does.

IMO the only things it is missing is the Jubilee Bracelet, and the 18ct white gold fluted bezel.

that was my first DJ. Ivory Arabic Dial which was stunning, fluted bezel and Jubilee Bracelet. Cost me £2350 in 2005 and sold it 2 yeas later for £1400 immaculate.

Wish I'd kept it now....even an Air King is over £3k...whats that all about?

My wife has the same watch, but in Silver rather than White...otherwise exact. It is VERY comfortable to wear. The only drawback to me is lack of lume to see time at night. Otherwise...awesome. It is a daily wearer and beater for her and still looks great even with PCL.

I really like that model. That Romans and the smooth bezel go well together. That is pure timeless elegance. Understated, yet classic and beautiful at that same time.
