Daytona 116509 White Gold, Yellow Gold, Rose

What is everyones opinion on this version of the Daytona.

I have never seen one out in the wild, and I've seen next to none being sold in the pre-owned market. I see so many gold Daytonas listed online for 29-32k and it seems the least expensive of them all is the white gold + blue face. But for this one, I can't seem to find any online dealers selling it with as much of a discount as the other gold versions. There seem to be more with the oysterflex for sale but this version hard to find.

I had actually never seen this version (without oysterflex) until I was poking around on the Rolex website and one of the employees at my AD had not seen this combo either until recently.

I'm just surprised it doesn't seem to be that popular, it has such a throwback look to it, reminds me of a modern 6263.

It's a stunning piece. There are some being sold by trusted sellers on the forum.

That is a beautiful reference and possibly the best dial combination for a WG PM piece. The only thing that can make it perfect is a cerachrom bezel.

They need to put the ceramic bezels on all these daytona's - that will complete it.

I totally agree. Ceramic bezels look much nicer on Daytonas.

They are a beautiful watches. Used there is not a huge premium over the stainless model.
Of course, the gold model will be more scratch prone. My favorite version is the silver dial with black arabic numerals.

Beautiful. WG for style! Only a few people who are also into it can tell it is an expensive watch.

I personally am not a huge fan of yellow or rose gold! So will go with WG!

Excellent piece, tried it at an AD this year. Wouldn't been perfect if this had the ceramic bezel.

Daytona 116509 White Gold, Yellow Gold, Rose

Personally, I found the RG Daytona looked a bit too feminine.

A beautiful reference. I saw one at an AD in Zurich a couple of months ago and really liked it. Tried to negotiate a discount and they held firm so I decided to pass.

It's a stunning piece, and it seems to be very popular from what I can tell, reading threads about it on TRF. The only negative comment I've ever read is its lack of a ceramic bezel.

In fairness, it was a "quiet" release to the line up. There was much fanfare about the OF version, and then one day a couple months later, this guy just sort of popped up. I'd be willing to bet quite a few people in the Rolex biz still don't know it exists.

Owned both, the ceramic version on OF, and same dial version on bracelet. I kept one when deciding between the two...the OF with ceramic. Just looked a little more balanced with the black sub-dials imo. Both are beautiful, just personal preference, but I wanted the combo of both ceramic and bracelet... so the PT Daytona for me.

While I like and respect the 116509, I prefer the 116519LN. The balance and contrast between the subdials, dial, bezel, case and strap is just perfect IMO.

Plus, it’s so much more rugged than a full WG bracelet and bezel.

And it's $10,000 cheaper!

It seems like the interest in gold daytona's is not very high, might be the price point for a sport model or the fact that there is nearly limitless combinations. This year I'll likely pick up this or the rose gold black dial or yellow gold green dial. Just not sure which one I'd like to get first. (I'll be getting this at the same time I pick up my Patek 5711 white dial). I do love that this has a throwback look to it, but interesting points made that it seems a lot of people prefer this with the ceramic bezel on the OF.

I'd prefer this with links but it always bothers me how ridiculously easy the gold scratches.

Maybe I should just get platinum, at least there, if you polish it you don't lose metal you just kinda move material around.

These are the 3 I'm between right now picking up first. Most likely will be grabbing a second one a few months after.

I also was pretty against the rose gold versions, until I saw a photo of Sir Jackie Stewart with his on, and it looked incredible. But there is still something that reminds me of every single women's Michael Kors watch when I see them.

I purchased the WG steel dial just a couple of months ago, and it's been my daily wearer since. Absolutely stunning yet understated. The blue dial is stunning also, but I find a little hard to read in-doors. The YG and RG just don't look right to me for a Daytona (obviously simply as a matter of personal preference.)

I don't think I'd want mine with a ceramic bezel.

The WG is my favorite Daytona. If only they made it in steel, larger and on bracelet. Maybe I'm asking a bit much.

Any real indication that this may come out? If so, I think the version out now would be quite rare in a few years.

The rose gold black dial one is bit girly, my wife actually want the rose gold white dial version.

I got the WG blue dial which I am very happy with it, and I would definitely consider the steel one if I am not already owning a SS black dial daytona.

Yellow gold green dial is good as well, just a matter of confidence to carry it around.

Originally I was thinking about getting both yellow gold + green and then white gold....starting to lean more towards platinum now and then possibly add the white version and then hold off on YG + Green for a while

Didn't include a pic of mine in my earlier post, and how could I have passed up the opportunity?

Do let us know your final choice--it'll be beautiful regardless.

I find the daytona small and the bezel is way too scratch prone.
