Icon20 GMT II batman

Hi all I’m brand new here. Looking to purchase in the next few months a gently used gmt II black and blue SS oyster. Trying to gauge prices and reputable secondary market dealers.

Thanks,

Brian the new guy.

First of all welcome to TRF. It sucks that you’re getting into this hobby at the worst possible time. You would’ve had no trouble just a year and a half ago getting a new BLNR within 2 months for retail.

Who knows? Right now used prices are about 13.5-15. More towards the higher end with papers and box. No one knows if the original ref will stay around there when the jubilee BLNT comes out. It all depends of supply but there are still many many people who prefer GMTs on an Oyster.

I would probably recommend waiting until the fall. The new BLNR will be available on the grey market and BLNR MK 1 prices should settle by then.

Edit: actually just looked on Chrono24 and 15 is pretty much the price. There are a couple under but this is what most people and stores are asking. Someone in Germany is selling one w/o papers for “cheap” but it’s reserved.

Buy sooner rather than later; prices were getting stupid even before the bracelet and movement change.

It's gone up around $3K in the last year slightly outpacing the hulk.

Prices for everything Rolex, AP and Patek are getting stupid. We’re very close to the point where most steel sports Rolex will sell for the same or more than retail for a two tone version! The Hulk and BLNR already cost more pre-owned than a new Bluesy. It’s pretty crazy.

In terms of who to buy from, look to the Trusted Sellers here. Go to the Buyers/Sellers Who's Who section of the classified area. Look at feedback.

I bought from Sohais and would recommend him. DavidSW and several other also have great reviews. In my opinion, it is definitely worth it to spend a little more to get such an expensive item from someone you can trust. Buy the seller.

Welcome to the forum. You might try making friends with an AD (Authorized Dealer). The actual list price of a new BLNR is less than the aftermarket price. Good luck, and happy hunting.

As others mentioned, buy it sooner than later. OG BLNR will be close to 20K by fall

Welcome to the forum.

Like many have said, used will be expensive. If you are willing to pay those kinds of prices (up to US$15,000, maybe more), look through the classified section on this forum for trusted sellers.

Otherwise, make friends with an AD, and you could possibly get the new one at MSRP if you are patient enough. It will be a long wait, though.

Thank you all. I was hoping sub 10k ( please don’t laugh) I look about a year or so ago and it seemed possible. Now not so much.

Thanks again

Brian

Same - was thinking about it ~6-8 months ago and it was around 10-11k. 15k right now is outrageous!

Forget the Batman. Overpriced and over hyped. I sold my BLnR, pocketed the cash and bought a Seiko Srpc25 (some call it the dark knight) with a Miltat 3D oyster and a jubilee bracelets from amazon and have thousands of $$$ left. It’s such a cool watch. Don’t let the little crown fool you. I had 6 Rolex, down to 3, and pretty soon 2. It would be 1 (16710) but my other half would kill me if I sold my Deep Blue as lots of memories with it. So many cool watches out there for way less I have learned over the years.

Seiko puts out an amazing product. Save some $$, buy a datejust41, and spend the rest on some really cool, just as tough, just as accurate lesser known brands. My $300 seikos run +/- 5 sec a day and take quite the beating.

For the rest of you, I’m prepared for you to throw stones at me.
