Date/no date ratio?

Overall, I believe the Submariner date gets more photographic coverage than its date-less brother, but I wonder if anyone has any idea in what ratio these two are manufactured?
Maybe 3 dates made for every no-date?
I appreciate the no-date was around a while before the date arrived on the scene, but since production has been growing over the decades then presumably there are more date-versions in existence now...
Slightly different question I guess - I wonder which of the two has the longest wait-list

I’m going to guess if the ratio was 3:1 against the non date version the demand would be greater for it.

I see a fairly even split when it comes to service clients, for whatever statistical value that adds

Interesting watchmaker - thanks (and you're in one of the best places to see the true ratio).
I know on TRF forums the no-date has a dedicated fan club (I hope to join the owners' club one day) but I imagine outside of WIS circles the date with its recognisable cyclops would be far more desirable as a 'status symbol'

There are less no dates made. Also most non WIS who want to buy one really good watch will usually pick up the Sub date. Imo the Sub ND is for those collectors who appreciate, and really want, the icon

Resurrection of the thread but still relevant. Picked up my Non-date from the AD earlier today and my SA said she was currently receiving a ratio of 4 to 1 in favour of the Sub date.

Not exactly proof of anything, but I see a helluva lot more sub dates out in the wild than standard subs.

My AD said six Subdates for every Sub.

ADs have always told me there is more demand for SS sub dates LN, thus they receive more to cover the demand. 3 to 1 demand for the SS sub date LN, 3 to 1 stock they receive.

The No date is only made in steel. The Sub date is made in many more metals so there will be significantly more of them.

I'm going to wager more than 10 to 1. There's only 1 no date. But there are several date variants of the sub

"Standard Sub"?
Submariner & Submariner Date. The cyclops is an eyesore on the Submariner Date -- Nothing like the symmetry of the Submariner for me.

Oh relax, you know what I meant. I could set my watch, pun intended, to the inevitable corrections when anyone says no date sub around here. Everyone gets it, its just said for ease of typed conversations. For what it's worth, I do agree with you. I don't like the cyclops on any watches, actually. Looks like a wart to me.

Submariner have only one configuration, the basic black on black meanwhile the submariner date have many configuration. I think because of this we see much more submariner date and so few no date

Just to be clear she was specifically referring to the 'same' equivalent sub, i.e. black date on steel. I didn't think to ask about the variations. Gives me another excuse to pop in....

Traded a bluesy for my 114060 and can’t imagine going back to a date Sub unless it was an add to the collection. The dial symmetry is just perfect!

I believe that the 3:1 ratio is also likely because there are many references with a date display, all things considered.

I understood your question.

But you could counter using the number of different Submariner models and variations.

The only anecdotal evidence I can add is that I see far more Sun Dates in the wild
