Which Bond opening is the best/your fav?

IMHO the best is Dr.No when he lights his cigarette. It would have to be one of best movie openings of all time.

Super Dave Osborne did good Bond intro.....

I also liked the opening of Golden Eye where Bond chases an airplane on a runway while riding his motorcycle. He ends up going over a cliff and skydives into the runaway plane as only 007 can.

Agreed, I love all the old ones with Connery and Moore, but I also really like Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. Same as the complete movies, I pretty much like them all

I think for me it's impossible to pick just one. Nothing beats the classics and some very good ones were mentioned. I enjoyed watching those so much I'll add a couple more.

Quantum of Solace wasn't my favourite film but it's opening scene is a tough one to beat.

Lots of lots of great Bond action openings with the great theme song that let you know you were in for some fun. Also had great credit sequences with nudes in silhouette.

I'd say the best movie opening off all time was the lighting of the match that turns into the vast panorama of the desert sun in David Lean's Lawrence of Arabia. The music, the cinematography and the juxtaposition of the match and the sun do it for me.

Actually I went back and looked at it and it wasn't the first scene which was the motorcycle accident, but it was the setting up of the story.

While not the best movie, I always liked the opening to For Your Eyes Only with Blofeld and the helicopter. That could be because FYEO was the first Bond film I saw in a theater.

So many great openings. Generally a vintage Bond guy, but Quantum of Solace intro was awesome.

Oh man, I don't know if I can choose a favorite. Goldfinger opening is timeless...honestly, I think Goldeneye also has one of the stronger openings.

Oh and what the hell, in keeping with the theme I've apparently started, Man with the Golden Gun also has one of my favorites (campy as it is.)

"Nobody Does It Better" sung by Carly Simon in 1977 for "The Spy Who Loved Me" is equal imho. It also was the first Bond movie theme song actually with a different title than the movie it was for. I love when they play it on SiriusXM.

I have them all and enjoy them all. But the "Tomorrow Never Dies" opening is like a movie in itself. Theme song let's it down--the closing song should have been the theme.

Hard to pick just one, though.

Say, is there a platform I can watch them all? Netflix, Hulu, Prime, Xfinity? Maybe it’s time for a little Bond watching once GOT finished tonight!

I downloaded all bond movies, blue ray quality. Can't see them on Netflix over here...

I think the thing we have to remember is that when each one of them came out, they were pretty cutting edge technology/cinematography wise.

So to compare something made in the 60s and 70s with something CGI made today is pretty difficult.

The best are quite a few, but the worst start has to be from Die Another Day. After some insipid action scenes, Bond's captured by North Korean military. The opening credits roll as Bond gets tortured

I like how goldfinger starts off at the end of a mission that doesn’t relate to the movies plot in any way. Then the great shot of the sub and the shocking line while wearing a white tux the whole time he had the wetsuit. Classic Sean as bond.
