What would be the next physical change to the Sub design?
The new Subs are set for a long run, but at some point in the future will most likely be tweaked again.
Different colors aside, what do people think/guess the next design changes are that will be made to the Sub line? |

Who knows ... but IMHO chamfers would add a nice level of detail and interest to the case.

Chamfers would be great. I love them on my 5-digits. On the other hand they add an entirely new dynamic with how quickly and easily they change when polished. One thing I kind of like about the 6-digit cases is they can be cleaned up without really having any noticeable physical change to the change. But a nice chamfer really is cool. That would be cool, but looks like Rolex decided to give Tudor the exclusivity on them. Love it on the Pelagos Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

It depends... Does anyone know what will bring the most debate from Vloggers to discuss needlessly (and endlessly), as that is what Rolex should do.

I think the next move should be/will be some sort of change to the bezel material. The shiny ceramics are getting fairly long in the tooth at this point and will especially be by the time Rolex is ready to roll out the next gen.

If Rolex wants to generate EVEN MORE interest and hype in the line (and make boatloads of money doing it), they could invest in their own bracelets/accessories for the Submariner.
A Rolex branded rubber strap at $500 would have an extremely high take rate. (Not Oysterflex... just a high-quality, normal Rolex rubber strap.) What's more, offer the rubber strap in five colors (black, white, red, green, and blue)... and you'll have Submariner owners going crazy to purchase two or three of them. |

Perhaps they will allow it on an OysterFlex. Things I would like to see which were present in vintage Rolex:
- big crown. No crown guard. - red triangle - Explorer dial

Same with lume. Superluminova is crap and featured on every watch from pricey to cheap. There are far better and more innovative solutions out there. The glidelock is cool but kind of thick and clunky. |

When do you think Rolex (not Tudor) will move away from Mercedes hands on Sub, GMT and Exp models?

Interchangeability with an oysterflex. Won’t happen anytime soon but then again neither will the next sub variant.

Internally......... Decrease friction within various parts of the movement while increasing stability and reliability. Reduce the need for lubricant, and extend the lifecycle where applicable. Make the movement 'easy' to service, especially known normal wear items.

10 years from now who knows. They just changed. Styles can change in many different directions from now until then.

I’ll tell you what though, if they brought back chamfers in today’s climate, for Rolex it would mean a huge amount of whining, for one, is it too much or too little. You know us, we’re way too critical. Rolex is smart, the oyster case and bracelet are about as basic a design you can get. |

rolex is going to do away with removable lug bars and fix it in. that way you cant change the strap. it's the rolex way.

No mater the change, subtle or not, people are going to run out and buy one like they are buying their last gasp of air.

Explorer dial for the win. The other stuff Tudor has covered though.

Some color and strap options would be nice, and a lumed bezel.
