And they say "Rolex isn't a tool watch anymore" anything is a tool if you're willing to use it as one.

Love it!
Stuff like this is one of the reasons my 16610 is on my wrist 99% of the time.
Will have to try out the beer opening

Opening a bottle with it!!!! Cheers! Maybe that puts to rest (for a moment) the common complaint that Rolex is not a tool watch and it’s just jewelry.

Great story. You have a wonderful legacy watch to pass down.

There is a beauty in not having to care what might happen when a watch has become well worn...

I also like seeing watches on people’s wrists that have been worn. It is reflection of a life led.

I could have had a white zenith daytona for right around 11-12k in 2017 but got an 116520 instead...... Love the 116520 but I should have gotten the zenith!

Great story! Thanks for sharing!

It’s amazing how these mechanical timekeepers have so much soul compared to the electronic counterparts...

Thanks for sharing some of, “the ride” with us!

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question.

I am sorry, but I would not do this with my watch.

He said he wouldn't use it as a bottle opener, not that you couldn't. You could probably use it as a doorstop or meat tenderizer too but I wouldn't.

Quite a bit jealous of the great wear marks you have acquired.
It’s looks great.
Best thread I’ve read in a while and the picture as the bottle opener won’t be forgotten!
Nice beer choice too.

That is no ordinary watch. It's a companion whose time travelled with you through the best and worst days.

If your ever going to sell it I think it might find its way back to you lol.
