A person's watch has ZERO reflection upon their decision making and LESS THAN ZERO to do with their character. Wow. I can't believe I actually read that.

I agree with you. I wouldn't think less of a doctor if he had an Invicta. Maybe he's got a Sub at home & doesn't wanna get it all f'ed up at work? I've never been so aghast at a doctor's office that I walked out.

I would disagree with you but my grandfather won the first ever bid protest (and the first to argue successfully they can be heard), the most IP cases, and he wore a seiko. I gave him a Tag Heuer later in life. an amazing man.

Just depends if someone is into it. My wife gynecologist is an eccentric Greek dude and he always had his 20 year old sub. Was more into race cars.

Not a really smart thread, anyone wars anything they like.

Ha ha! Post of the week to this man!

I used to have monthly check ups (nothing serious, but required.) so I spent a lot of time at my local hospital. In 7 years I've maybe seen, 4 Rolex wearers total. My own physician is s WIS but has yet to commit to something befitting his "station", or more realistically- salary level.

I don't think profession is emblematic of a Rolex devotee or even being a WIS for that matter.

Don't worry, with my constant chatter, copies of WatchTime and persistent talk about fine time pieces, he'll be sporting a luxury watch in no time. Or, I'll need a referral to a new, more 'pliable' medicine man. BTW, he's a Zeineth 'El Pimero' kinda guy.

Man, some of you guys have really lost your way in life. You never judge another person. And much less so for what they’re wearing. Might be time for me to check out of this forum.

First post here and I have a question for the physicians on the forum. I've noticed a lot of Apple Watches when I've been at a hospital, both on physicians and nurses. Is it more practical to wear a smartwatch when working at the hospital and then wear your Rolex (or any watch) when working in the office?

As I've mentioned in a previous post, it is against NHS policy for clinical staff to wear anything below the elbow, due to infection control. I'm pretty sure USA healthcare policy would be similar to ours. It's essential to have a watch with a second hand to take heart rates, for this purpose a clasp watch is attached to the chest of the practitioners uniform.

When my father had heart bypass surgery, his doc came to meet with me when he was moved to recovery. Doc was wearing a SS white face Daytona. I immediately asked him how he developed a relationship with his AD and if it was part of PM package deal, how long his wait was, etc. Put our wrists together with my Sub and we took a GTG selfie pic. I asked him if he ever bought gray, he said yeah, and I told him all about how they're ruining the watch world etc.

Just Kidding. He said my dad was doing fine and I could see him in a few hours. Pops has made a great recovery.

A lot of people would say that about tattoos.

I wouldn't go to a doctor with tattoos.

See how stupid that sounds?

My wife and I do .Always.

My watches have been covered in all bodily excrement/fluids imaginable.
I therefore as a rule do not wear leather strapped watches from my collection to work .

My mom's nurse yesterday at UCI Med Center was wearing 42mm Polar Explorer II and a Cartier Love bracelet. The surgeon was wearing an apple watch.

Syed, that’s just being prejudice. And as you said, a lot of people are that way, but that’s not what this is. When you’re hiring a doctor, it’s important to understand who they are. The quickest way is to look at their decisions. I dont want a doctor taking care of me with a frugality (shitty watch) mindset. And that’s what that invicta screamed out! Being cheap is different however.

If a doctor has tattoos I’m ok with it. If they’re shitty tattoos however.....
