Chrono24 update
Has anyone seen the latest updates to the Chrono24 “Watch Collection” feature? It’s pretty cool. It tracks the details of the pieces you own: When you acquired, how much you paid etc. and then adds an estimate of the current value with the trend over time and current pricing. You can take pictures of your actual watch to add to the details.

Does it update the current value based on what others are asking for pieces or by what other watches actually sold for? There is a huge difference between those two points.

My understanding is that it tracks average of price paid. This is consistent with my own information. It estimates my 2018 BLNR is worth a tick over £12k but if you look at all the U.K. 2018 BLNR’s on sale, £12k is the minimum asking price and the average asking price is nearer £14k.

Chrono24 update
Here is what the site has to say: https://www.chrono24.com/info/valuation.htm#gref
It’s just a data point, I’m not too concerned about getting a check for the estimate but it’s fun to watch the trends. I like being able to see all my pieces together and look at the history of my collection. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Its a mute data point in my opinion if it is looking at asking prices. Sold prices are more realistic. I can ask anything for a watch, the market trend depicts what it will actually sell for.

It’s a moot point to me because I’m not interested in selling them but like I said it’s fun to look at. They evidently DO look at actual sales as well as current offers.

I put my watches in there, just to get a range. The lower end of the range they produced seemed in line with what I would expect.

And let's hope the database won't end up with people using the information for criminal activity.
