Graham Watch Advice

Hi All,

I'm a rolex owner and have recently been offered a Graham Chronofighter Diver 1000. I thought the watch looked interesting so I might purchase it. The seller has good feedback but I have a couple of concerns with the watch after research online. I was wondering if anyone here has more experience with these watches and might be able to confirm if it's genuine or replace. After the research i noticed the lever moves a little and some of the text looks slightly of, as well as the back not being engraved. If someone with more experience could confirm if this is genuine or not it would be appreciated. (Personally I think it's Fake)

Cheers

Same here. I know people will fake ANYTHING but it seems odd to make a high quality fake of such an obscure watch.

I've read online that the copies of this watches are very good and theres only a few small differences. If you look closely at the SWISS MADE you can see it's not centred properly. This is my biggest concern, as a watch of this value shouldn't have bodged test ….

Pardner, I have no idea if that's a real Graham or not since it's not something ya see much. The old saying "buy the seller" is an absolute in this scenario. The one thing that makes me lean towards "authentic" on this watch, is the caseback is stamped with an anchor and that stamping looks to be of very high quality.........but that's a flimsy reason. Where is the watch? Can you see it real time before purchase?

Hi, thanks for your input. My concern with the back is the others i've seen have the text engraved. I have the watch in hand at the moment. The buyer has good feedback and a history of selling watches. But my main concerns remain. The trigger moves and the SWISS MADE is off centre which on a watch which cost a few thousand, is unusual I would have thought?!

Can't you take it somewhere and have it authenticated?

It's proving difficult where I live as there are no AD's local. I have one Watch Shop whom I have sent pictures to. Looks like I might have to travel in to London.

No sir, I didn't say that, nor would I agree to that. I am in no way qualified to make that call. There are some armchair experts here who might. I merely provided a couple of pictures so you could look for yourself.
If it was me, and since you have the watch in hand, I'd make the effort to go see a qualified professional.
I hope it works out for you.

The replica's of this are extremely accurate, Someone has coloured in the text on Reset with a felt tip it looks like. The spacing on the reserve is per spec and the fakes have the engraving on the back very well done as well

Definitely need to get it checked. The reps even have the movement pretty well done as well

What's the can opener, attached to the side? Or is that a pull pin, like for a grenade? Seems very cumbersome...
