Halloween at work

Does anyone else think it is weird to, as an adult, dress in a halloween costume at the office. Or even worse, on public transit to and from said office.

Its fun for the kids, and to watch the excitement on the kids faces... but I wonder sometimes if halloween is just an excuse for social misfits to wear it on their sleeve, so to speak, and get away with being weird one day a year.

I am all for fun at work, but I think halloween costumes are out of place here.

For sure it is not my cuppa. I think you can do it at the party the weekend before and the night of, but whatever floats your boat I guess.

I too think that it is for the children.

Yet another area where we totally agree. My wife's work has "dress up" for Halloween every year. Every year I hear her complain how some people in her department don't want to dress up for the day - she says they are just grumpy old farts who don't want to have any fun. I dutifully nod and agree with what she is saying, while at the same time am thinking that she would be talking about me if we worked at the same place.......

If I can find them when I get home, I'll post a picture of her department last year - they all went as cavemen (and cavewomen, I guess). Some of them look nearly as hairy as JJ does!

I guess one reason why my wife might be so excitied is that they didn't have Halloween in Australia when she was a kid - not sure if they do now or not.

I am looking forward to handing out a bunch of candy to get people's children all wound up on sugar before bed!! We don't have any children, so this is when I get revenge on people who's kids are screaming in a restaurant or in line at the grocery store...........

You mean ME?

Actually, C is very good, but if she has to sit in a resturant for more than 20 minutes before food is in front of her, look out! I'm so aware of the 'screaming child syndrome' that I try to minimize for other people's sake. Most cuz I used to be one of those people shooting the screaming child's parents dagger looks, in my pre-C days.

That said, I'm really looking forward to escorting the clown up and down the street, seeing what kinda take she gets, cuz really, I'm the one who's going to get to devour it all anyways. At 28 months, she isn't allowed to gorge on sugar.

BTW... hairier than JJ? Does saskwatch work at your wife's office?

My algebra teacher actually wore the costume he wore to the Haloween dance today to school. It was kinda weird.
