I ordered from both the Boutique and from Galleries. The 2nd order was only $779 (converted) and not a peep from Customs.

On that note (pics coming) I sure like the 8CC wallet. It's a bifold, 4 CCs on each side, but done vertically so that it isn't a thicker wallet. I like it.

We spent about $1,500 the first order and I reported then that TNT collected about $80 in customs fees.

Just curious, has anyone waitlisted for the same item at both Faure Le Page locations? If so, how did that work out?

Just an update & quick heads up. I'd been waitlisted since October on a 4 cardholder in Paris Blue with yellow trim. I was finally notified that they received a new shipment of cardholders and currently have all colors in stock.

Quite a wait for a cardholder, but at least the wait for my girlfriends Daily Battle ended before Christmas.

With all these nice shots my arm is starting to twist to try them out. Could someone with the FLP Card Holder do me the favour and post the exact measurements?

Question for you, since Galeries delivered through Chronopost, is this a private courier or USPS? I placed an order with them late last week. Thanks in advance.

I love the FLP wallet. Wanted one but just couldn't get over the amount they wanted to charge me shipping to CA. Was almost have the price of the actual wallet, ridiculous.

I'm a unique situation because I live in a "village" in the middle of nowhere with no roads in (planes or boats only). But mine got switched over to FedEx for delivery (which we "kind of" get up here). Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Stop crying and get it--you'll love it.

You'll use it for years so that $70 will payback quick.

Plus that is OVERNIGHT shipping. Not bad actually from Paris (have them use FedEx instead of DHL -- I did).

Just buy MORE so it dilutes the shipping cost over them all...that's what I did (but stay below $800)!

Cool, thanks. I'm assuming that it'll switch over to FedEx as well; the general consensus from what I've read online is that it gets switched to FedEx...

I'm going over $800, unfortunately, so I know I will be dinged by customs. I was kinda hoping that it would've been switched over to USPS as they're a little more lenient as opposed to a broker/courier like UPS/FedEx. Oh, well.

I figure with how much I'm spending, it's justified since a) it's a high quality product, b) you cannot get it anywhere else, and c) I'm not going to Paris/Europe anytime soon, which is an expensive trip on its own.

Thanks for the response! I think based on what others have said through google, my package will most likely get shipped through fedex. Which kinda bums me out since I am well over $800, so getting dinged by customs is imminent. I was hoping USPS would take over since they're a little more "lenient" than couriers/brokers like UPS/FedEx, but I guess it's not meant to be, lol.

I figure it's worth it since these items are hard to find, they're well-made, and saves an expensive trip to Paris.

I may test the waters and start with a card holder. If anyone's in the same boat and in NYC I'd be happy to club in together to spread the shipping cost. I mean, fifty bucks is fifty bucks

Just a heads up in regards to customs...this is in regards to my order through Galeries Lafayette who shipped via Chronopost.

I got a call this morning from IBC telling me that they won't ship out the package (which arrived last week on Thursday in the morning) until I pay my invoice. My total was $121.88...about $79.38 (which is about 9% of my total), $5 advancement fee, and a $37.50 broker fee. After you pay the fee, the item will be released and shipped via fedex. I'm not sure if this is the same process as going through the main boutique (which ships through TNT to FedEx for US orders), but I'm assuming it is the same, if not similar.

Again, customs only applies to any orders that are $800USD or above. It will not apply if you go below that threshold.

I kinda wish Faure le Page didn't use a private courier service, which tends to ding for customs, but I guess for them it's more secure than using EMS. Such is life. Kinda felt bad for the woman who called me, lol, because I don't think she likes making those calls, but it's not her fault and it's federal policy...

Just so you know, they are not being 100% truthful. They called and said the same thing to me, and mine had just been delivered that morning. Apparently they say that hooping you'll pay quicker, though it is already on the way.

Perhaps, but the only issue with mine is that it was sitting in customs since last Thursday. The status didn't change until an hour after I paid and the package was released soon after.

In any case, it's not a big deal, I expected it to happen. I had another friend who actually got mailed the bill several months after she had moved to a different state (!). How they found her, I have not a clue...

Hi guys,I needed a new card holder since I lost the previous, was hesitant about the brand, mostly between Faure le Page and Vuitton.

I had the usual damier small card holder, and wanted to change a little, so decided to get this one, looks and feels really cool, of course it is leather so not as resistant as the fabric, but hoping it will still be made in a few years and with differ materials, it's called damier embossé.

It has 8 pockets, all inside except the 8th which is on the reverse.

Anyone here own such models ?

I was looking at one very similar last month, I don't think it had a slot on the outside though. It was fabulous, the leather was a lot thicker than I imagined and will last for years. Yours looks brilliant.

Great pick up.

I looked at that one recently. It may be my next LV buy.
