That info was released a couple years ago. Looks like you missed it back then.

I spoke w my watchmaker yesterday. Works for a large AD. He continues to order and receive 1570 parts without issue or comment. We shall see.

There will be no more parts as of the new year. It will be Switzerland only and from what I have been told, there will be a non-refundable deposit to send it to Switzerland, and we aren't talking about $100.

It is very common for watch manufacturers to stop producing parts for calibers that are over 30 years old.

This is why you take care of your independant watchmaker who still has parts. Many old school guys who used to have a parts account stocked up like crazy back in the day. Just make sure they know not to sell to any of all the scavengers running around trying to steal their stuff for pennies.

I personally doubt this will be much of a problem for many years to come. But who knows...

Theres no truth to this. 15 calibre was made up until 1991 in the 5513.

They're still supplying parts for 2035 (discontinued 1983) so the 1570 is in no danger. If some watchmaker is experiencing this its probably a local thing, Rolex USA seem to operate independently from Rolex SA completely, my guess is there's no qualified watchmakers in certain regions so theres no point supplying parts. What is a fact is that Rolex no longer train watchmakers on 15XX, 4030, 2035, 5035, 5055, 12XX etc...

I wouldnt worry for a while yet.
