A picture I almost did not post

This picture of an Indian Silverbill has had some great reviews on the hosting website. The thing is I almost didn't post it. I was thinking the bird was too common and no one would be interested. Just shows how wrong your instincts can be.

No, it's out in the wild from my car window. The background is known as the boken effect. The 300mm 2.8 lens I use is renown for it. When you add a X2 converter the effect increases.

Incidentally the Indian silverbills were introduced as cage birds, some escaped and they have not looked back.

Great picture Adrian and yes have kept quite a few silverbills myself when I was keeping foreign finches.

Yep I think so. You can't really create anything with a watch, but with that lens you're creating art for you and others to enjoy for years. I'd take that anyday

I believe you mentioned before you had a Nikon... what that a D2X?

Yes it was very late afternoon, in fact my next shots were of the moon as I was leaving.
