Are you a bezel fiddler?

Hi guys,

Most of us have watches with rotating bezels?

Questions:
Do you fiddle around with your bezel?
Do you actually use your bezel?
Do you prefer a fixed bezel?
or...do you have a bezel, but never use it (like me)?

Cheers - JJ

I used my bezel once to cut through a rope when I was tied to Jane Seymore. No wait! Was that a movie I saw.

Seriously I use my watch bezel for quite a few important timing things like my morning walk and timing eggs.

Cheers Aaron

BTW. I should buy a Daytona to get the perfect egg.(Thats my excuse and Iam sticking to it.)

THAT IS NOT WHAT THE DAYTONA WAS DESIGNED FOR

It was designed for you to find out how many licks per minute it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop

I prefer a rotatable bezel even though I hardly ever use it. I just like the fact that the feature is available if I ever need it. It's my old boy scout training: Be Prepared.

New Use for the GMT Bezel

I discovered a great use for my GMT bezel. Last week I had to be in Chicago for a legal recruiting program. Every year, Loyola Law School hosts a 3 day program called the Patent Law Interview Program. They congregate about 200 prosective employers (law firms, corporations, govt.) in one hotel and schedule interviews with law school students. That way the students can pack in a bunch of interviews without having to run all over town.

I have been doing this program for about 10 years. I conduct about 30-35 interviews over a two day period. Each interview is 25 minutes long. I usually schedule 20 minutes for the interview and then spend 5 minutes writing up notes before moving on to the next candidate. In order to keep to my schedule this year, I set my bezel marker to the 20 minute point, so that when the minute hand reaches the marker, I know it's time to end the interview.

It worked great, and I was able to easily keep to my schedule throughout an entire day of interviews.

Love the GMT.

Did it help with the interview? Or was it just an excuse to look at and fondle your GMT Ed?

That's the whole idea. Get them nervous and see how they react under pressure.

It would take that long for you to tell him about all the Rolex watches that you bought "forever".

Hey, hey, when did I ever say I hate fixed bezels. I still love them 'cause I never use them.

Just that the solid 18K gold of the YM is....well, something else. Agreed?
