I don't demand anything or act like I'm owed anything at all. I just enjoy the experience and leave on a positive note. Then I drop the SA an email a month or so later and wish them a good day and remind them that I am still interested in whatever specific model and to let me know if one becomes available. Rinse and repeat. I haven't had repeated success yet but I did just score my first Rolex, a submariner after a 3.5 month wait which was way sooner than I ever would have expected from reading these forums. I was thinking I was in for a couple year wait, if ever.
I use the same approach... and scored...

LOL.

YMMV.

Don't worry, Rolex also ranks below Patek, AP, VC, Lange, FPJ, Dufour... So you have a life time of being looked down to look forward to.

Never had an AD act like they were looking down on me. But I have had one tell me they had nothing to sell me. Not the same thing.

Insecure people who look to be offended at perceived slights will undoubtedly succeed.

Wow... that's a huge spread from wholesale price versus MSRP. No wonder the grey market are able to get big discounts in the past and sell on this forum.

I've never been treated like that by a Rolex AD. Our local AD, from whom we've bought all our MSRP Rolex watches, treats everyone who walks through the door with friendliness, respect and curtesy.

Nobody who behaves like that should get your money. Find another AD and maybe do a bit of self reflection to cover all the possibilities..

my AD has been taking care of me fantastically, and I treat them well in return.

About $55,000 per Stainless Rolex:
- 5k profit on the Rolex
- 50k profit on worthless jewelry

Not enough. Do what the TS’ do.

Undercut Rolex ADs while charging the same with 80% less rent, 90% less staff, and 100% less nonsense.

I guess I need to get out more. The two local Rolex AD’s have treated me with respect each and every time I visit. I have visited other Rolex AD’s in other states while traveling and have (literally) never had what I could even remotely characterize as a “bad experience”. I have never been to Vegas (only the airport while passing through) so I can’t speak to that.

As to what an AD makes I can’t comment. Many are full service jewelry stores with a Rolex franchise; customers who will buy a Rolex will also buy other things for themselves, their wives, mistresses or side piece so the watches don’t provide the bulk of their income. Both of my local AD’s readily admit they are sick and tired of answering dozens of random phone calls each and every day from random people looking for a Rolex. It gets old REAL fast.

I treat every sales person with respect because they are there to help me. Obviously there are some sales people who can be challenging to deal with but, honestly, it’s a very small number. YMMV but the golden rule has yet to fail me.

Considering ADs were taking 20% off sticker about 4 years ago should give you an idea. Still making plenty of money even with that discount.

I've never had a problem with my AD or another AD store in the same area, but have been ignored at other stores throughout US and Europe. If I'm not wearing a Rolex, I'm ignored, otherwise, politely told they have nothing to sell except a Tudor, Omega etc.

It depends. The ones that sell to greys usually make more.
