Insider story:

The total proposed numbers of 366 should be 1,500 units. However, Panerai has decided to hold on to the release (I believe that they have fully manufactured all 1,500 units) of last 500 units due to some reasons.

At this stage, the serials has not yet passed 900 therefore there should be another 100 to go.

Someone placed an order for 60 of them. Of course, he can't get it.

Conclusion:

If I have the money, I will stock up 20 to 30 of them.

The reason:

It is the cheapest PAM in China. A very good gift to friends (much much better than i-phones, i-pads) which they may hold on for a long time. Everytime they look at it, they will appreciate and recall who gave it to them.

What we should do:

A lobby event in front of their shops in Shanghai, tell them how unhappy we are on the way that we are being treated, give us what we want, set up a proper system in place to look after us, not just their VVIPs!

Anthony, I believe if you buy enough watches from the boutique you'll end up as one of their VVIPs. hahahahaha.

Well the PAM 366 is the cheapest PAM ever (and comes with a COSC cert), priced even below the PAM 000. That's why it is much sought after by collectors. Plenty of room for price increase in 5-10 years time, especially when Panerai stops using the OP calibre movement.

Wow already reach 900 serial number? I wonder who got the #888..............that's gonna fetch a lot of money!

Lee and Anthony..
It appears that Panerai has hit pay dirt in China...I mean...release 367 after 366 just to satisfy the demand for an affordable base...
and I have been following the 2ndary market...the prices in Asia are just waay higher than the rest of the world...
wow...Panerai Mania has hit...

Due to the "normal" look of 367 and its higher price than 366, I believe that it is really worth while holding on to your 366.
When 366 was first introduced, so many ppl complained about the "FU" saying it was too Chinese... but I disagree!! Anyway, the 367 is priced only slightly higher than the 366 but with an additional extra straps and also it's a Hongkong LE. I would say the price is still attractive but I still prefer the 366....

FYI, I'm still queuing for another 366 for my bro...

I would say the price for PAM in China is the highest of all due to taxes. I feel the real PAM enthusiasts or ristis, VVIPs are not in China since Panerai is not well known there. So far from what I know, the person who owned the 420 are mostly foreigners working in Shanghai.

For me, the standard piece is too overpriced and I would rather get it pre-owned or from Hongkong boutique.

Anyway, I suggest all of us in Shanghai should have a gtg and then take the opportunity to head over to the boutique and let them know we are also their loyal customers if not VVIPs.

I heard the 367 will arrived this month with the 366, but the 366 has already been allocated for someone else.

Trust me that there are a lot of VVIPs in China with local buyers. I saw a guy bought 3 watches in one go and they are standard models!!!

For 420, I was told that the current second hand price in Hong Kong is close to HKD90K therefore I will hold on tight to mine.

I agree with the GTG and should get someone senior from Panerai China to attend such that he can listen to our voice. However, I don't think he cares.

I was told that they are releasing 900 serials 366 now. If we cannot see any 366 with more than 999 serial, we have to wait for a while and may have to pay for higher price 366 for the remaining 500s. Very nice marketing techniques of Panerai.

They say they will release 1,500 but they can do such over a few years!!!

I was in the IFC boutique today and asked about the waitlist for the 366, the waitlist is now closed.

Anthony, did you sort out your issue with the boutique?

one is good enough for me, unless i get another one with #888/1500

saving up for other watches. while waiting for Panerai to launch their old/new models i've been busy collecting other "special" watches. don't want to restrict myself to Panerai only.

The issue cannot be resolved due to my lack of funds.

If I buy a slow selling model of more than RMB100K, I may then be able to solve it.

They are all the same all over China. I have given up my hope in them completely.

Anthony, I would have jumped on the chance even if to buy a slow selling model. It's the same everywhere, even in the BJ boutique. Panerai IS very smart, they know how to use their most loyal customers to their advantage.

The day will come when the advantage will turn to the buyer's corner.

I was on the queue for another 366 but two weeks ago, they told me it's not available anymore. Somehow, I feel it's just their marketing strategy... and not giving up hope yet!

Lee,

I truly believe in your comments. When that day comes, probably you and me would have no more Pams in our possession anymore.

I am, sort of, OK with their approach. However, all I am asking is a little bit of respect to us that we are not very smart people but at least not dumb.

If the serial of 366 stops at 1,000, I am sure that there will be somemore in the future which they will ask for higher price.

For 367, I paid CNY32,300 instead of the so-called RRP of RMB30,200 which they should me with the picture of the watch 2 months ago.

I am sure that they have another 500 units available somewhere in their safety box.

Be patient but be prepared to pay for a premium.

I'm still waiting for the 420 but I know they have some in stock in their safe when I visited the boutique last week. I casually ask them how many 420 u have in there, and he cheekily responded, "Sorry, cannot be revealed".

Can't do anything but wait! I think maybe they are trying to meet their monthly sales target, so have to wait till April to get mine.

Are you sure? I thought they would have sold 0001 as a paired set with 410 already?
